Peter Grandich To Deliver Keynote Presentation At AGORACOM Online Gold and Commodities Conference

Posted by AGORACOM at 9:31 AM on Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

Grandich

I am very proud to announce that my great friend, colleague and mentor, Peter Grandich, will be sharing his views on gold, the US Dollar, oil, markets and commodities at The AGORACOM Online Gold & Commodities Conference. He may be AGORACOM’s Chief Commentator but he isn’t getting top billing because of his title.  The fact of the matter is that I don’t know another market commentator who has made more accurate calls on gold, the $USD, oil and the market’s tops and bottoms than Peter Grandich.

Sounds grandiose?  Don’t take my word for it.  The Wall Street Journal cited him and just 3 others for their ability to make those calls.  Moreover, in the ultimate example of PYMWYMI (Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is), Peter’s model portfolio that is used to track his market commentary has been nothing short of en fuego.

You’ll read his bio below but Peter is an absolute must follow if you want a non-fence sitting, tell it like it is and deadly accurate market commentator – especially when it comes to gold that he has been pounding the table on for several hundred dollars now.

PROFILE

Peter Grandich, Chief Commentator of AGORACOM.com, is an internationally-acclaimed financial expert who has made a 25-plus-year career out of his knack for uncannily-accurate market predictions. Labeled the “Wall Street Whiz Kid” by Good Morning America, Grandich gained national notoriety by being among the very few who not only forecasted the 1987 stock market crash just weeks before it happened, but on the very next day he predicted that within two years the market would reach a new all-time high – which it did.

Proving his market calls are no fluke, The Wall Street Journal recently included Peter in an article about the few analysts that picked the March 2009 lows. What his readers know is that Peter also called the October 2007 stock market high on his blog and went short on the entire market.

His ability to analyze and forecast financial happenings has resulted in hundreds of media interviews including GMA, Neil Cavuto’s Your World on Fox News, The Kudlow Report on CNBC, and every major financial media outlet including Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, Financial Post, Globe and Mail, US News & World Report, New York Times, MarketWatch, Business News Network and dozens more. He has spoken at investment conferences around the globe and is regarded as one of the world’s foremost market strategists. He has edited and published four widely-read investment newsletters and contributed to numerous national publications.

Peter is also the founder of Trinity Financial Sports & Entertainment Management a firm with a Christian perspective which he started in 2001 with Lee Rouson, former NY Giant and two-time Super Bowl champion. The firm offers services to celebrities, athletes and average folks.

He was also the founder and managing member of Grandich Publications, which was acquired by AGORACOM in 2009. In his first full year with AGORACOM, over 190,000 investors visited Peter’s blog 1.1 million times. Grandich also provides a variety of services to publicly-held corporations on a compensation basis.

Peter Grandich is a member of the National Association of Christian Financial Consultants, and a long-standing member of The New York Society of Security Analysts and The Society of Quantitative Analysts.

Chinese Small-Cap Company Feature: China Nepstar Chain Drugstore

Posted by AGORACOM at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

As many of you know, we are very bullish on the long-term future of Chinese small cap and mid cap companies for two reasons:

1] The obvious reason – China is the fastest growing economy on the planet and nothing is going to slow down its ascent over the next 50 years and beyond. Investing in growth companies there just makes too much sense.

2] Great Results and Valuations – Many Small Cap Chinese Companies are listing in the US (OTCBB, NYSE Alternext and NASDAQ) with great financial results. Unlike many dubious US Small Cap Companies, Chinese Companies don’t seem to believe in losing money or failing to execute in a business plan. As such, 7-digit revenues and profits are very common.

From a valuation point of view, many Chinese companies became a victim of their own success in Q4 2008 and Q1 2009. Why? When the world needed to start liquidating, one of the first places they looked were China where most investors had significant gains to sell into. This resulted in the proverbial baby being thrown out with the bathwater and some great valuations.

TODAY’S FEATURED COMPANY

China Nepstar Chain Drugstore (NYSE:NPD)

Npd

China Nepstar Chain Drugstore Ltd. (NYSE: NPDNews) is China’s largest retail drugstore chain based on the number of directly operated stores. As of September 30, 2009, the Company had 2,337 stores across 67 cities, one headquarter distribution center and 12 regional distribution centers in China

YOUR RESEARCH STARTING POINTS FOR CHINESE SMALL CAP AND MID CAP COMPANIES

We’ve provided investors with two great starting points to research great Chinese small cap and mid cap companies.

1. ChinaSecurities.com – ChinaSecurities.com tracks 250 of the best small cap and mid cap companies trading on North American exchanges. It provides you with the best of the best in two ways. First, the front page lists the best news of the day coming out of the space. It does so by giving you a text view of the best press releases by industry and via Chinese Stocks TV, a 5-minute broadcast every morning just after the open. Chinese Stocks TV is archived, so you can catch up on shows you missed.

Second, if you want to research each of the 250 companies to find candidates for your portfolio, it has a very intuitive directory that lets you quickly review each company on the master list, or parse it out by industry and exchange if you have a particular sector of interest. Cool stuff.

2. Right here on AGORACOM, you can refer to our China category for other featured Chinese Small-Cap Companies. As always, we will disclose any IR relationship with any public company. Given the sheer number of great Chinese Small-Cap Companies out there, you can expect us NOT to have an IR relationship with most of these companies.
