AGORACOM Mourns The Loss Of George Koutroubis

Posted by AGORACOM at 11:29 AM on Monday, February 23rd, 2009

It is with deep sadness that we report the loss of our friend, brother, husband and son George Koutroubis.  I don’t have much more to say right now, except to say with every fiber of my being that George was the kind of friend you dream of having in your life.  The first guy to lend a hand, pick up the tab, crack a joke, call to congratulate you.

This was a senseless murder. We are all numb for now.  Rage will come later but for now we simply mourn the loss of our brother – George Koutroubis.  I can’t believe I just wrote that line. Can’t.

In the spirit of peaceful thoughts, I leave you with images from our last great celebration with him.  His Christmas wedding to beautiful Rhoda.  The tremendous love and affection permeates every photo.

    George,

Our deepest sympathies and condolences to his wife, family and close friends.

We met George very briefly on his wedding rehersal day — it was one of the worst snow storms last year and they (his bride and parents) were there at the church just before us — My daughter also was married at the same church just before George and his bride on the same day Dec 27/2008 so his memory and the brief encounter will always live on with us.

    Respectfully,
    Anna Tsirakidis

    George,

Everyone here at the office was so sad to hear the terrible news. George K was such a nice and generous guy when we met last year.

Our deepest condolences to you and all of his friends and family.

I hate to see a person cheated of his life…..

  7. I worked with Georges brother-in-law in the past although its been a few years…. but since I found out about this last week I have been checking the facebook & news page with concern. My deepest condolences to you his friend and all of the family. I am sad, scared and angry over this whole thing and really don’t know anyone that well…. I guess being in the same age group with a family of my own …it just hurts to see this.

To see the smiles and know that his wedding was a celebration of family and friends (as well as the couple) it was nice to know that this took place through the photos you posted… adding to many memories of those who were present.

    Continued Prayers,

    Jeff S.

  10. George,

What a sad outcome. When we were driving back to Toronto from Ottawa yesterday we stopped along the 401 and saw a poster asking for help finding him. This is a tragedy. Please accept my heartfelt condolences to you and his family.
