Bioshaft Water Technology Inc (OTCBB: BSHF)

Announces USD $56 Million Contract For Baghdad Wastewater Treatment

its patented technology the Hans BioShaft System has been selected as the sole provider of 13 domestic wastewater treatment plants in the municipality of Baghdad in Iraq.

· Contract between FPS and the municipality of Baghdad is valued at USD $56 Million

· Manufacturing is expected to begin in mid 2008

· FPS International is a licensee of the Hans BioShaft System and will be responsible for construction and installation of the BioShaft Systems for the municipality of Baghdad.

Iraq has a large water and sanitation network, but it is in a critical state of disrepair. System failures are a daily fact of life. Efforts to fix the country’s municipal pipes and treatment plants — damaged by the impact of a decade of sanctions and war — have been seriously undermined by chronic under-investment, frequent power shortages, lack of qualified personnel, illegal water tapping and acts of sabotage.

As a result, less than half of Iraq‘s population can claim reliable access to potable water.

Estimations from the World Bank predict a total cost in the next few years of around $5 billion for improvements to water sanitation and waste.

BioShaft is an innovative wastewater treatment technology based on Bio-Filtration utilizing sludge carriers. These plants are made using the Hans BioShaft Turbine that is at the heart of the wastewater technology. It was developed in the Netherlands in 1994 and was improved upon by Dr. Hans Badreddine and implemented as Hans BioShaft(R). It is patented in the United Kingdom and the patent is pending in the United States. To date there are more than 30 Hans BioShaft domestic wastewater treatment plants in use throughout the world. The plants have many benefits over traditional wastewater treatment systems. Some of these benefits include: almost no odor — the plants are considered odorless; no sludge — the patented BioShaft’s attached growth process results in the elimination of sludge; the BioShaft has much lower energy consumption, and less significant land requirements.
