The global military drone market is estimated at approximately US$35 billion in 2026 and projected to exceed US$109 billion by 2031, according to market research cited by HPQ, with North America accounting for roughly 40% of global demand. HPQ holds exclusive North American commercialization rights for Novacium’s silicon based battery technology under the HPQ ENDURA+ brand.

UN 38.3 does not represent the end of every certification requirement. Tourillon confirmed that finished drone battery packs will require an additional certification process once pack designs are finalized. He described this as part of the normal commercialization process and said management does not currently expect it to prevent a first commercial order.

Tourillon said HPQ has resolved many technical challenges surrounding its battery technology and is increasingly focused on commercial work required to develop products customers are prepared to buy.

Qualification programs are progressing at different stages across multiple organizations, including evaluation and feedback, optimization and revalidation.

When asked whether the first commercial order was more likely in Q3, Q4 or beyond, Tourillon cautioned that his response was forward looking but said, based on the information he is receiving, he believes an order could occur during the current quarter.
