In a recent long form video interview with AGORACOM (see link at the end of this article), LaFleur Minerals CEO Andrew Elinesky detailed the company’s definitive gold and silver purchase agreement with Ocean Partners UK Limited and outlined how the company’s integrated mine-to-mill strategy positions it for near-term production at a time when most gold juniors are years away from revenue.
AGORACOM Beyond The Mic Feature Article Issued On Behalf of LaFleur Minerals Inc.
January 20, 2027
Key Highlights
- Non-Dilutive Financing Secured: LaFleur has signed a definitive agreement with Ocean Partners UK Limited to purchase 100% of gold and silver produced from the planned Swanson Gold Project bulk sample, to be processed at the company’s 100% owned Beacon Gold Mill in Val-d’Or, Quebec
- Up to $5 Million US Working Capital Available: The agreement includes an optional working capital advance of up to $5 million US with no equity dilution, no warrants, no arrangement fees, and no security over company assets—a rare structure in junior mining
- Market Pricing at Delivery: Ocean Partners will purchase gold and silver at prevailing LBMA market rates at the time of delivery, meaning LaFleur benefits fully from current gold prices trading above $4,000 per ounce
- 100,000-Ton Bulk Sample Planned: The first-stage bulk sample targets approximately 4,000 ounces of gold from 100,000 tons of near-surface, open-pit mineralized material—representing LaFleur’s first step toward continuous production
- Compressed Timeline to Production: Unlike most juniors facing 10-15 year development timelines, LaFleur’s ownership of the fully refurbished Beacon Gold Mill and permitted Swanson mining lease creates a pathway to revenue generation within months, not years
- Strategic Quebec Location: Both the Swanson Gold Project and Beacon Gold Mill are located in Quebec’s Abitibi Gold Belt near Val-d’Or, one of the world’s most established mining jurisdictions with supportive government, skilled labor, and established infrastructure
Why This Agreement Matters
The Ocean Partners agreement represents strong third-party validation of both the Swanson Gold Project and LaFleur’s ability to execute. Elinesky emphasized that securing an unsecured debt facility—one that doesn’t place a claim against company assets—demonstrates Ocean Partners’ confidence in the straightforward geology at Swanson, the processing capabilities at Beacon, and management’s track record.
Elinesky, who joined LaFleur in September after 11 years at McEwen Mining and successfully leading Sabre Gold Mines through reorganization and eventual acquisition, explained that his attraction to LaFleur was simple: near-term production with previously invested capital. “Some of the most profitable mines that I’ve ever been associated with were the folks that are coming in second, third, fourth kick at the can,” he said.
The working capital advance will fund mining contractor mobilization, pre-stripping activities, and other site work required to commence the bulk sample. Importantly, the facility allows LaFleur to avoid shareholder dilution at this critical stage. “Debt is debt—it’s a serious commitment,” Elinesky acknowledged. “But this is an entry-level commitment. We’re talking a relatively small amount of money that is manageable.”
What Makes LaFleur Different
Most gold juniors face a painful reality: even after discovering mineralization, they must spend years—and often tens of millions of dollars—securing permits, building processing facilities, and navigating financing that frequently dilutes early shareholders before production begins.
LaFleur has answered that challenge by assembling a rare mine-to-mill package. The company owns the Swanson Gold Project, which hosts an indicated mineral resource of 123,400 ounces and an inferred resource of 64,500 ounces. Just 50-60 kilometers away sits the Beacon Gold Mill, a fully permitted 750-tonne-per-day facility that LaFleur acquired in 2024 and has since refurbished with approximately $4 million Canadian invested to date.
“Having the facility already installed, having a deposit that is ready to mine—those timelines are unbelievably smaller,” Elinesky explained. He noted that grassroots discoveries typically require 5 to 15 years or more before reaching production, while LaFleur is targeting bulk sample mining and processing in Q1 2027.
The bulk sample will be mined from an open-pit design with a low strip ratio, meaning minimal waste rock must be moved to access ore. Elinesky described the 100,000-ton bulk sample as “effectively the first stage of a mine plan”—a manageable first step designed to validate the resource, test mill performance, and build operational experience before scaling up.
The Quebec Advantage
Both assets are located in Val-d’Or, Quebec, within the Abitibi Gold Belt. Elinesky stressed that Quebec’s mining-friendly jurisdiction is a significant competitive advantage. “It is one of the only locations I’ve been where they truly understand and have integrated mining into their society so well,” he said. “They see what benefits it brings.”
The region offers year-round road access, available skilled labor, proximity to suppliers and contractors, and a regulatory environment where mining is understood and supported. “There’s not a better location,” Elinesky added.
What Comes Next
LaFleur is currently completing final maintenance work on the Beacon Mill’s tailings storage facility, with results expected to be submitted to the Quebec government within weeks. Once the mill’s operating permit is reactivated, the company will commission the facility using existing stockpiled material on site—approximately 10,000 to 12,000 tons—before moving to the Swanson bulk sample.
At the Swanson Gold Project, the company is advancing permitting work, including resubmission of the closure and remediation plan expected in Q1 2027. If regulatory approvals proceed as anticipated, mining of the bulk sample could begin shortly thereafter.
Elinesky made clear that the Ocean Partners agreement is not a one-time arrangement. “This is setting us up to forge a path forward,” he said. “If we’re successful with this bulk sample, we can discuss what we would do for the next stage.” The company’s long-term vision includes expanding both the resource at Swanson and the processing capacity at Beacon, targeting annual production of 40,000 to 50,000 ounces and potentially higher.
With gold trading near record levels, a financing structure that avoids dilution, and a clear pathway from bulk sample to production, LaFleur Minerals is positioning itself as one of the few junior gold companies moving from development into revenue generation on a compressed timeline.
Leadership Perspective
“I will never say it’s straightforward—this is mining, after all,” Elinesky acknowledged. “But the gold price where it’s at does give me a little bit of comfort, as well as the straightforward nature of the deposit and the processing. It’s about as vanilla as you can get.”
He emphasized that the company’s strategy is built on discipline and manageable steps. “It’s about your share price, not about how big your company is,” he said. “If you can minimize dilution and generate some cash flow, your ability to raise capital and your cost of capital just gets so much better.”
