Active Control Technology Inc. (TSX-V:ACT)

installs first commercial activemine system at West Virginia coal mine

Deployment of wireless Wi-Fi communications system heralds new era of mine safety and productivity

announced today that it has sold and installed its first commercial deployment of ActiveMine(TM), the company’s two-way wireless Wi-Fi communications and tracking system, at an underground coal mine in West Virginia.

An existing customer issued a new purchase order to install a basic communications system in a newly opened mine so that the mine would be compliant with mine safety regulations for communication. The system has been in operation for a full month now and will be invoiced next week.

The system will be invoiced at $125,000 and represents 20 percent of the estimated lifetime revenue of this mine plan for the ActiveMine system which would total up to $625,000.

This initial order reflects the new mine’s size at present, as it is operating with one active face at 1,500 feet underground. The mine plan calls for at least two active faces and several miles of

underground entries. As the mine face advances, further revenues will be generated as additional ActiveMine nodes are added to extend the underground Wi-Fi network.

This installation marks a major milestone not only for Active Control, but also for underground coal mine safety and productivity,” said Steve Barrett, President and CEO, Active Control.

About ActiveMine

ActiveMine’s communications, data and tracking system enables monitoring of production, personnel and equipment in all types of surface and underground mining environments, including coal and base metal mines.

Intersects 60 Metres of Strong Mineralization Including

3.7 Metres of 2.4% Copper,

33.2% Zinc,

1.1% Lead,

172g/t Silver and

assay results from the second and third drill holes on the company’s Mirdita Project in Albania.

following up the first drill hole at Koshaj which intersected a wide zone of high grade mineralization (see Tirex news release dated March 3, 2008).

Like the first drill hole, this mineralizing system continues to demonstrate its ability to generate very high grade mineralization (33.2% Zinc was encountered in the intercept of 3.7m) and significant gold values.

Summary of results from drill holes MR08-02 and MR08-03 are in the PR.

Bryan Slusarchuk, CEO, states, “Today’s excellent assay results over 60 metres of core length are further confirmation of the potential of the Mirdita District and I, again, congratulate our technical team on these results. After we drill an initial nine holes at Koshaj, we will move the first drill three kilometres to the Gurthi South Zone while awaiting Koshaj assays. The first drill will continue to test areas of known mineralization whereas the second drill is dedicated to drilling previously undrilled geophysical targets. We believe that the Mirdita District is a potentially world class VMS District and that by aggressively using modern exploration methods we can rapidly begin to prove that potential.”
