VIDEO: Datametrex $DM.ca #COVID19 Test Kit Sales Of Approx $1.5M & 26,000 Units – Are Just PILOT PROJECTS

Posted by AGORACOM-JC at 6:43 PM on Thursday, June 11th, 2020

On April 16, Datametrex AI  announced it had obtained the rights to import and sell COVID-19 test kits from South Korea, due to a request for help from the Canadian Government who needed a partner with high-level security clearances.

On May 15, Datametrex AI reported its first sale of $500,000 for 10,000 units to a Canadian mining company.

By today’s interview (June 11) Datametrex has announced approximately $1,500,000 in sales, representing approximately 25,000 COVID-19 test kits.
Any company and their investors would be very happy with these results give the fact it’s Q3 sales (March 31 and Pre-COVID) were $810,000 strictly from Artificial Intelligence.

But CEO Marshall Gunter then dropped a bomb on us …. the ~25,000 Units and $1.5M in COVID-19 test kit sales are PILOT PROJECTS, the definition of which according to QUORA is:

A pilot project is an initial smaller scale implementation of a larger project that is used to work out issues and roadblocks prior to going all out with the full project.

Clearly, Datametrex has something potentially bigger in mind, assuming all goes well with these pilot projects.  How well are they going?  Who else are they talking to?  How far could the “full project” go?

The answers to those questions will come from our latest interview with Datametrex AI CEO, Marshall Gunter.

Datametrex AI (DM: TSXV) is a great Canadian small cap technology company, who is giving small cap investors an opportunity to participate in the emerging world of Artificial Intelligence, as well as, the brand new world of COVID-19 testing.

Two #COVID19 Test Kits Distributed by #Datametrex $DM.ca Granted FDA Emergency Use Authorization

Posted by AGORACOM-JC at 7:09 AM on Tuesday, June 9th, 2020
  • Announced that Seasun Biomaterial’s 20 minute rapid Nucleic Acid test kit, AQ-TOP COVID-19 Rapid Detection Kit, has received authorization from the U.S. Food & Drug Administration
  • Registered under the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Emergency Use Authorizations for Medical Devices
  • So far, Datametrex has a total of three test kits that are FDA approved under Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Emergency Use Authorizations for Medical Devices available for sale

TORONTO, June 09, 2020 — Datametrex AI Limited (the “Company” or “Datametrex“) (TSXV: DM, FSE: D4G, OTC: DTMXF) is pleased to announce that Seasun Biomaterial’s 20 minute rapid Nucleic Acid test kit, AQ-TOP COVID-19 Rapid Detection Kit, has received authorization from the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (“FDA”) registered under the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Emergency Use Authorizations for Medical Devices (“EUA”).

“These test kits can expedite the process of testing by reducing testing times, aiding in an earlier detection of the virus, a more accurate prediction of the positive cases, and a decrease of the infection rate,” said Marshall Gunter, CEO of the Company.

Additionally Datametrex would like to provide an update on the 1drop Inc. (“1drop”) test kits. The 1copy™ COVID-19 qPCR Multi Kit has secured FDA authorization under the EUA. This is a nucleic test kit providing results in less than two hours that verifies the RdRp gene for SARS-CoV-2 with real-time qPCR kits via a nasopharyngeal swab and oropharyngeal swab, specifically targeting the E gene sequences of COVID-19.

So far, Datametrex has a total of three (3) test kits that are FDA approved under Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Emergency Use Authorizations for Medical Devices (“EUA”) available for sale. The approved test kits are 1copy™ COVID-19 qPCR Multi kit, Seasun U-TOP™ COVID 19 Detection Kit, and AQ-TOP COVID-19 Rapid Detection Kit.

“Having seen the urgent need for COVID-19 test kits, Datametrex is doing everything it can to help Canada combat COVID-19 and flatten the curve. In the meantime, having FDA under EUA approved test kits allow us to help our neighbours to the south and any Canadian company with operations in the US,” says Marshall Gunter, CEO of the Company.

With regard to the FDA authorization: (1) this test has not been FDA cleared or approved; (2) this test has been authorized by the FDA only for the detection of nucleic acid from SARS-CoV-2, not for any other viruses or pathogens; and (3) this test is only authorized for the duration of the declaration that circumstances exist justifying the authorization of emergency use of in vitro diagnostics for detection and/or diagnosis of COVID-19 under Section 564(b)(1) of the Act, 21 U.S.C. § 360bbb-3(b)(1), unless the authorization is terminated or revoked sooner.

The Company’s ability to fulfill any purchase order for COVID-19 test kits is subject to the availability of inventory at the time of order. Due to the extraordinarily high demand for COVID-19 test, there is volatility in the supply chain and available supply may fluctuate on a daily basis. Datametrex anticipates that it will have little or no upfront costs associated with importing and selling these test kits.

Datametrex $DM.ca Announces Another Sale of COVID-19 Test Kits to a Canadian Mining Company

Posted by AGORACOM-JC at 9:42 AM on Monday, June 8th, 2020
  • Announced a purchase order of COVID-19 test kits from a Canadian based mining company with thousands of employees in multiple jurisdictions
  • This PO is for their Ontario and Quebec operations
  • Total gross sales amount is approximately $450,000 CDN, excluding shipping and courier fees

TORONTO, June 08, 2020 — Datametrex AI Limited (the “Company” or “Datametrex”) (TSXV: DM, FSE: D4G, OTC: DTMXF) is pleased to announce a purchase order (the “PO”) of COVID-19 test kits from a Canadian based mining company (the “Purchaser”) with thousands of employees in multiple jurisdictions. This PO is for their Ontario and Quebec operations.

Under the PO, Datametrex will provide the Purchaser with 10,000 units of the COVID-19 qPCR Detection Kits manufactured by 1drop Inc., 10,000 3 mL Universal Transport Medium (UTM®) Sterile Swabs with 16x100mm Skirted Tubes, and 2 Real-Time PCR Detection System machine to analyze the samples.

The total gross sales amount is approximately $450,000 CDN, excluding shipping and courier fees. The Company has secured all requested testing kits, swabs, tubes, and the PCR machines. All of the items will be imported and distributed to the mining company at their operating sites in Ontario and Quebec. Datametrex anticipates that it will have little or no upfront costs associated with the sale of these test kits.

Ontario and Quebec account for more than 90% of Canadian COVID-19 cases and until there is a vaccine the mining community must carefully balance the risks with the unintended social and health consequences associated with spread of COVID-19 with getting miners back to work. Datametrex feels that a frequent testing, tracking and contact tracing strategy to further monitor and contain the spread of the virus is vital for companies to get employees working and for the reopening of economies. The direct cost to companies using the COVID-19 test kits in the Companies portfolio are a small cost to pay to open operations.

Since March, the World Health Organization (the “WHO”) has urged countries to scale up the testing, isolation and contact tracing of COVID-19 patients in order to fight the pandemic. As the pandemic progressed, some countries, including South Korea, were able to use testing and tracing to control the disease and avert lockdown measures and closure of industries. “Datametrex is honoured to be assisting Canadian companies in the health and welfare of their employees. We are proud to be able to help Canadians and companies to reopen businesses around the world and to help people return to work safely. We sincerely wish them and all Canadian companies the best during this pandemic,” says Marshall Gunter, CEO of the Company.

  • Hundreds of posts spreading misinformation about Covid-19 are being left online, according to a report from the Center for Countering Digital Hate.
  • Some 649 posts were reported to Facebook and Twitter, including false cures, anti-vaccination propaganda and conspiracy theories around 5G.

90% remained visible online afterwards without any warnings attached, the report suggests.

Facebook said the sample was “not representative”.

A spokesperson for Facebook said; “We are taking aggressive steps to remove harmful misinformation from our platforms and have removed hundreds of thousands of these posts, including claims about false cures.

“During March and April we placed warning labels on around 90 million pieces of content related to Covid-19 and these labels stopped people viewing the original content 95% of the time.

“We will notify anyone who has liked, shared or commented on posts related to Covid-19 that we’ve since removed.”

Twitter said that it was prioritising the removal of Covid-19 content “when it has a call to action that could potentially cause harm”.

“As we’ve said previously, we will not take enforcement action on every Tweet that contains incomplete or disputed information about Covid-19. Since introducing these new policies on March 18 and as we’ve doubled down on tech, our automated systems have challenged more than 4.3 million accounts which were targeting discussions around Covid-19 with spammy or manipulative behaviours.”

Imran Ahmed, chief executive of the Center for Countering Digital Hate, said the firms were “shirking their responsibilities”.

“Their systems for reporting misinformation and dealing with it are simply not fit for purpose.

“Social media giants have claimed many times that they are taking Covid-related misinformation seriously, but this new research shows that even when they are handed the posts promoting misinformation, they fail to take action.”

Rosanne Palmer-White, director of youth action group Restless Development, which also took part in the survey, said young people were “doing their bit to stop the spread of misinformation” but social media firms were “letting them down”.

Both Twitter and Facebook face questions from the UK’s Digital Culture Media and Sport sub-committee on the way they are handling coronavirus misinformation.

MPs were not happy with an earlier session. They demanded more detailed answers and said more senior executives should attend the next meeting.

For the study, ten volunteers from the UK, Ireland and Romania searched social media for misinformation from the end of April to the end of May.

They found posts suggesting sufferers can get rid of coronavirus by drinking aspirin dissolved in hot water or by taking zinc and vitamin C and D supplements,

Twitter was deemed the least responsive, with only 3% of the 179 posts acted upon.

Facebook removed 10% of the 334 posts reported and flagged another 2% as false. Instagram, which Facebook owns, acted on 10% of the 135 complaints it was sent.

Both the social networks insist they have made efforts to bring fake news about the coronavirus under control.

Twitter has begun labelling tweets that spread misinformation about Covid-19. Facebook has also removed some content, including from groups claiming the rollout of the 5G network was a cause of the spread of the virus.

Five Tell-Tale Signs Of A Fake News Story

  • As you know, there has been a lot of talk about fake news stories lately, and tech companies, like Facebook and Google, have been looking for ways to incorporate fact-checking into their operations
  • These attempts to keep misinformation at bay will no doubt be helpful, but in the end, much of the responsibility lies with the readers themselves

By: Bernadette Coleman

The other day, I shared a news story I had received in my inbox with my husband. After reading him the email, he gave me a glance, slowly put the “loser” finger sign to his forehead in jest and simply said, “fake news.” Was it? At first glance, I didn’t think it was, so I looked again.

As you know, there has been a lot of talk about fake news stories lately, and tech companies, like Facebook and Google, have been looking for ways to incorporate fact-checking into their operations. These attempts to keep misinformation at bay will no doubt be helpful, but in the end, much of the responsibility lies with the readers themselves. I decided to not fall for fake news again.

It was at that moment of clarity that I really started looking. Now, if I encounter a news story that seems rather odd or hard to believe, I thoroughly vet that information as well as I can before passing it on to my husband and friends or discussing it with my colleagues at work. As I recently found out, falling for a fake news story can leave you feeling gullible, and passing on that false information could have far-reaching implications for the wider population. At least it will have your significant other looking at you oddly.

I figured the best defense against being suckered in by all the misinformation on the internet is to be well-read and well-informed on topics that interest me. The more I know about the world around me, the easier it will be for me to spot the tell-tale signs of a fake news story.

So here are some signs that the story you and I are reading may be less than truthful.

1. Unusual Or Unknown Web Addresses

Whether you are browsing through your Facebook feed, checking out your favorite news aggregator or reviewing the results of your latest search query, pay careful attention to the source of the story. You should be checking out the URL associated with the news story.

An unusual or unknown web address is a big red flag and a sign that you are dealing with a fake news source. Watch out for URLs that look similar to real news sources. Sites like msnbc.com.com or nytimes.biz may appear legitimate at first glance, but the unusual web address is a dead giveaway.

2. A Lack Of Corroboration

If a major political party candidate has been indicted on the eve of an election, you would expect to find those news headlines everywhere. If all you can find is a single headline in your Facebook newsfeed, you can be fairly certain the story is fake.

Whenever you spot an unusual story or piece of late-breaking news, you should first look for corroboration elsewhere. If the story is legitimate, it will show up on mainstream news sites that you recognize. If the story is a fake, it will probably be confined to more questionable sites, and that lack of corroboration should lead you to do further research.

3. An Old Date On A ‘Breaking’ News Story

One common trick of fake news publishers is presenting an outdated or previously debunked story as breaking news. When users click on a banner headline in search of breaking news, they often find an old story presented as if it were brand new.

Get into the habit of checking the dates on stories you read and links you click. If the date is an old one, you can be sure you are not dealing with new information.

You can go further and check to see if the story has been debunked since its original publication. Myth-busting sites like Snopes.com can be great for this kind of thing.

4. An Obvious Slant Or Bias By The Authors

One of the hallmarks of professional journalists is their independence, so an obvious slant or bias by the author can be a red flag. Even jaded readers who feel the mainstream media carries an inherent bias should be suspicious of stories that appear to support one side over the other in an obvious way, so always ask yourself what the writer has to gain.

A certain degree of bias is to be expected in an opinion piece or editorial. However, if the story is presented as straight reporting or journalism, an obvious slant might be an indication that the entire piece is fake.

5. A Sensational Headline

News writers work hard to get the attention of their readers. That is what headline writing is all about. That same dynamic holds true on the internet, where the competition for eyeballs is even more intense. Even so, if a headline seems like clickbait, it probably is.

A sensational headline is one of the tell-tale signs of a fake news story, and you should proceed with caution when you see one. If the headline would be more at home on a supermarket tabloid than in a real newspaper, the associated story could be fake.

Despite the efforts of Facebook, Google and other online giants, fake news stories are unlikely to disappear any time soon. With so many sites competing for viewers and so much money to be made, fake news publishers will probably be around for quite some time. The best way to protect yourself is to be an educated reader. The more you know, the easier it will be to tell the fake news stories from their legitimate counterparts.

I believe we need to cultivate an awareness of what’s fake and what’s not fake on the internet. Helping people understand that when they share fake news, they are littering our space is a must. We can only do this if we do this together!
