Ottawa, Ontario–(October 28, 2020) – KWESST Micro Systems Inc. (TSXV: KWE) (“KWESST” or “the Company”) today announced the completion of the second phase of three deliverables under a contract to support a U.S. military customer, featuring the Company’s signature Tactical Awareness and Situational Control System (TASCS) and its Integrated Fires Module (IFM).

On September 22nd, 2020, the Company announced the completion of the first deliverable to provide real-time situational awareness and targeting information from a drone to ground forces and their mortar weapons systems. The second deliverable, just completed, incorporated customer feedback from the first phase to optimize TASCS operating procedures.

KWESST $KWE.ca Extends Option to Acquire Non-Lethal Technology $WRTC $BYRN.ca $PAT.ca $POWW

Posted by AGORACOM-JC at 8:41 AM on Monday, October 26th, 2020
  • Announced it has extended until December 15, 2020 its option to acquire a proprietary non-lethal munitions technology system referred to as the Low Energy Cartridge
  • KWESST entered into a letter of intent with DEFSEC on June 6, 2020 to acquire the LEC technology, and is currently conducting due diligence on the technology and its market potential
  • LEC is a proprietary non-lethal cartridge-based ordnance system with wide application in the rapidly growing market of soldier and law enforcement training, maintenance of public order, and personal defence

Ottawa, Ontario–(October 26, 2020) – KWESST Micro Systems Inc. (TSXV: KWE) (“KWESST” or “the Company”) today announced it has extended until December 15, 2020 its option to acquire a proprietary non-lethal munitions technology system referred to as the Low Energy Cartridge (“LEC”).

The owner of the LEC technology is DEFSEC Corporation, an Ottawa-based based private company owned by David Luxton, the Executive Chairman of KWESST. KWESST entered into a letter of intent with DEFSEC on June 6, 2020 to acquire the LEC technology, and is currently conducting due diligence on the technology and its market potential.

The LEC is a proprietary non-lethal cartridge-based ordnance system with wide application in the rapidly growing market of soldier and law enforcement training, maintenance of public order, and personal defence. “The market has long required a safer, lower-cost reliable alternative to existing solutions,” said Jeff MacLeod, KWESST Founder and CEO. “We see the LEC as a strong fit with KWESST’s other smart ordnance technologies, like our Shot Counter system. Together, the LEC and Shot Counter have the potential to anchor the build-out of a significant business unit specialized in smart ordnance systems, with a vast global market.”

The contemplated transaction would benefit from the deep combined experience of Jeff MacLeod and David Luxton in the specialty ordnance business. Mr. MacLeod is a highly knowledgeable defence industry executive with over 20 years’ experience in the field of small arms and advanced soldier systems. Prior to establishing KWESST, he was the General Manager of Colt Canada, the primary supplier of small arms to the Canadian military. David Luxton was the founder in 1990 of Simunition Inc., a business that develops and sells simulated munitions for realistic close quarters combat training for military and law enforcement around the world. He sold the business to a large military contractor and from 2015-2018 was the Executive Chairman of United Tactical Systems LLC, a U.S. company that develops and sells products for the global less-lethal market.

The terms and conditions of the letter of intent between DEFSEC and KWESST are detailed on pages 16 and 17 of the Company’s Filing Statement dated September 28, 2020 which can be found at www.sedar.com. The acquisition of the LEC technology by KWESST remains subject to the approval of the TSX Venture Exchange.

Ottawa, Ontario–(October 20, 2020) – KWESST Micro Systems Inc. (TSXV: KWE) (“KWESST” or “the Company”) today announced the elevation of its affiliation with SAMSUNG Electronics America Inc. (“SAMSUNG”) to “USA Partner” status.

As a SAMSUNG USA Partner, KWESST will be employing the SAMSUNG S20TE tactical smart phone in the production version of the Company’s Tactical Awareness and Situational Control System (TASCS) and for its Integrated Fires Module (IFM) for networked targeting on soldiers’ weapons.

“SAMSUNG tactical smart devices are the preferred choice of military users around the world,” said Jeff MacLeod, KWESST Founder and CEO. “Therefore KWESST’s new status as a SAMSUNG USA Partner further positions KWESST to advantage in the tactical ecosystem.”

Today’s announcement builds on the Company’s earlier announcement of March 6th, 2020 regarding Headquarters Marine Corps Aviation sponsorship of KWESST to integrate the Company’s TASCS capability into the ATAK Battlefield Management Application in use with a wide range of military and homeland security users in the U.S. and internationally.

“Incorporation of KWESST’s TASCS and IFM applications into ATAK and SAMSUNG devices represent important milestones in the steady recognition and traction our applications are gaining in the military community as enablers of networked defence and security personnel and their operational assets,” added MacLeod.

Users of the SAMSUNG S20TE will have access to KWESST’s TASCS and IFMs applications at the push of a button for a networked common operating picture of the situation on the ground. And, with KWESST’s miniaturized snap-on adaptor containing sensors, software and ballistic algorithms, soldiers will be able to connect these smart SAMSUNG devices to their weapons, networking them into precision “smart munitions” systems for safer engagement and more effective coordinated targeting of adversaries.

The SAMSUNG S20TE device, also known as the Galaxy S20 Tactical Edition, is the latest mission-ready military smartphone built and proven by operators in special operations for rapid information capture, sharing and analysis in diverse operating environments.

VIDEO – Soldier Launched Micro Drones, Electronic Soldier Decoys and a $93,000,000 Pipeline – Meet Brand New Listing KWESST Micro Systems $KWE.ca $WRTC $BYRN.ca $PAT.ca $POWW

Posted by AGORACOM-JC at 9:17 AM on Thursday, October 1st, 2020

If you haven’t heard of KWESST Micro Systems (KWE:TSXV) you’re not alone because the Company just listed for trading a couple of weeks ago – and it is probably the coolest new listing of 2020 if you love high-tech, covert defense systems that we only get to see in Tom Cruise movies.

KWESST is a leader in “soldier systems” which are technologies that increase the capabilities of soldiers,  Let’s be clear right off the start, KWESST doesn’t sell weaponry.  Rather, it sells technologies that make a big difference to the safety and effectiveness of soldiers.

For example, out in a field of combat, soldiers emit Electro Magnetic (EM) signatures that make them detectable by enemy combatants.  KWESST has a battlefield decoy system that creates multiple false phantom signatures to spoof adversaries.  This picture is worth 1,000 words.

We could go on about many other such technologies created by KWESST but this is AGORACOM after all and we want to get down to the business of KWESST, the highlights of which are as follows:

  • A developer of next-generation systems for forces around the world, including those of NATO and its allies
  • A leadership team whose experience spans decades and hundreds of millions of dollars in military and homeland security contracts
  • A sales and distribution network of agents that spans the globe
  • Partnerships with globally recognized OEM’s, including Samsung
  • A sales pipeline that stands at $93,000,000 (not a typo) as of August 2020
  • Already generating revenues in 2020

And last but not least, a secret weapon in its Executive Chairman David Luxton, whose companies under his leadership have generated over $1,000,000,000 (Yes, BILLION).

The soldier systems market is projected to hit $14.5 Billion by 2023 and, up until  now, small cap investors have never had a company to participate in this lucrative (and SUPER COOL) market.

Now you do.  Meet KWESST Micro Systems.  Watch this first ever interview with David Luxton himself to learn about where KWESST is going.

Ottawa, Ontario–(September 24, 2020) –  KWESST Micro Systems Inc. (TSXV: KWE) (“KWESST” or “the Company”) today confirmed the formalization of patent pending status of an invention which improves the accuracy of military weapons systems, utilizing a novel micro-optical and computer vision technology, branded “Polaris”.

Polaris works with digital aiming systems for military weapons including the KWESST’s flagship Tactical And Situational Control System (TASCS) and its Integrated Fires Module (IFM) to achieve the kind of accuracy normally obtainable only with expensive “smart” weapons systems. TASCS IFM and its Polaris enhancement are comprised of an app and simple snap-on device that turns traditional “dumb” weapons into “smart” weapons, without any modification to the weapons or ammunition.

KWESST President and CEO, Jeff MacLeod, commented that, “Polaris is an important enhancement to KWESST’s TASCS and IFM system, which we believe will make this whole technology set even more compelling for military customers as they seek to improve the precision and utility of existing weapons systems.” He added: “While developed to work with our TASCS IFM module, Polaris could be implemented on non-competing fire control systems sold by other manufacturers.”

As well, Polaris and TASCS IFM enhance safety since weapon system commanders receive an accurate visual indication of the point of impact, allowing them to monitor projected impact points and quickly adjust aiming for greater precision.

The TASCS and Polaris suite integrate seamlessly into Battlefield Management Applications (BMA), the software systems used by NATO and NATO allies’ militaries to disseminate information, plan operations, and provide general operational awareness.

Current military digital aiming systems for weapons can suffer from inaccuracy due to fluctuations in inertial navigation, GPS, and digital magnetic compass bearings, particularly when weapons are stationary for long periods of time. Polaris overcomes these inherent inaccuracies through digital aiming that is not affected by magnetic fields, shock or recoil, or “drift” in location bearings over time.

The key benefits of Polaris for military users include:

  • Faster time on target;
  • Improved first round effects and accuracy; and
  • Reduction in the number of rounds required to neutralize a target.

Improved accuracy and first round effects also mean a reduction in potential collateral damage.

About TASCS and IFM

TASCS is an app and snap-on weapon adaptor that streams situational awareness and targeting information from any source directly to soldiers’ smart devices and their weapons systems for a leap ahead in safer and more effective engagement of adversaries. IFM is the variant of TASCS that integrates this capability into many short-range and long-range weapons systems, including grenade launchers and mortars.
