So far, lithium has been the hottest metal of 2016, beating out gold, with exponential demand expected over the coming years. Although the price trajectory of the metal has been subdued in recent months, the fundamentals behind the long-term trajectory suggest strong potential for long-term growth. Price doubling from 2014-2015 was first seen in China and is now being felt worldwide, with lithium hydroxide prices from $16-20 and carbonate prices from $12,000-14,000 per ton.

Automotive thrust

There is no doubt as to the push that Tesla has given the current automotive transition to electric vehicles (EVs). As the company’s mission statement outlines, it hopes “to accelerate the advent of sustainable transport by bringing compelling mass market electric cars to market as soon as possible.”

However, since 2014, when Tesla first announced the Gigafactory with Panasonic, other manufacturers have begun to take notice and take action. Volkswagen AG announced last week that it was considering LG Chem Ltd. or Panasonic Corp. as partners for several $2 billion factories, according to Bloomberg, with confirmation expected later in the year.

Previous announcements of billion-dollar investments in battery factories by Volkswagen were largely brushed off by investors as deflections from their “Dieselgate” scandal. But with LG and Panasonic in the picture, concrete plans appear to be crystalizing.

Combined with Daimler putting $550 million into tripling its battery production capacity in Germany, Nissan’s planned investments in the UK for its third generation Leaf, and GM’s joint venture with LG Chem to produce batteries in Holland, Michigan, for its Volt and Bolt, it is clear that auto manufactures are beginning to shift to electric—and in a very big way.

Given this new investment, plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) sales are expected to experience 62% year-over-year Growth in 2016, 60% in 2017, and likely 100% in 2018. This translates into over 600,000 in PEV sales expected in 2018, creating a new level of demand for which the market will need two new lithium mines in operation to even begin to satiate.

“Looking at the full picture here, the future demand for lithium is truly staggering,” says Michael Kobler, CEO and director of American Lithium Corp., one of the ambitious new explorers shaking up the lithium mining scene in Nevada.

  • Summer Surface Exploration; objective to outline future Drill Programs
  • Utilizing the Prospector Generator Model, the Company is currently seeking participation by interested Option/Joint Venture Partners for its Lithium Projects (see About the Company’s Business Model – Page 2)

Vancouver, BC / July 21, 2016 – Pacific North West Capital Corp. (“PFN”, the “Company”) (TSX-V: PFN; Frankfurt: P7J; OTCQB: PAWEF announces that its 100% owned subsidiary, Lithium Canada Developments will be conducting a Phase One Exploration Program, during the summer of 2016, on three Lithium Projects in southeast Manitoba.

A surface Phase One Exploration Program, consisting of Mapping, Prospecting and Sampling of known Pegmatites, on three of the company’s Lithium Projects, will begin during the summer of 2016. Presently, work permits have been submitted with the government and once granted, the field work will begin. The exploration program planned will lay the groundwork for future Exploration Plans and Drill Programs. Historic records in the region have indicated Lithium mineralization and mineralogy to be present in several Pegmatites, but at the time, exploration was being conducted for other commodities.

The three projects that are being explored this summer will be the Lithium One, Lithman North and Lithman East Projects. All three have previously mapped Pegmatites and are situated in the Winnipeg River Pegmatite Field. This Pegmatite Field hosts the world class Tanco Pegmatite, which has been mined from an underground operation, at the Tanco Mine Site in various capacities, since 1969. It once was one of the primary producers of Spodumene (a primary Lithium ore) in North America.

The Tanco Pegmatite is not exposed at surface, except for under Bernic Lake. It is an extremely fractionated, rare-metal, complex type-Petalite subgroup, LCT (Lithium-Cesium-Tantalum) Pegmatite, hosted in a late-stage, subvolcanic Gabbro. Current NI43-101 compliant resource calculations are not available for the Tanco Pegmatite. Academic publications have estimated the size of the deposit to be up to approximately 57 million tonnes. The last published mineral reserves (end of 1992) were 1.075 million tonnes of 0.12% Ta2O5, 3.5 million tonnes of 2.7% LiO2, and 315,000 tonnes of 23.3% Cs2O.

-Surface exploration to guide planning of Fall Drill Program, on T2 discovery and exploration for more T2-like discoveries, along the strike to the east and to the south

-River Valley, a primary PGM deposit with 2.5 Moz PGM in near-surface, Measured and Indicated resources, within 100 km of Sudbury – one of Canada’s largest, undeveloped, Primary PGM Reserves.

-Strong infrastructure support, with year-round road access and nearby rail, power and communities

-4 New, 100% owned Lithium Projects, with Pegmatite deposits, in Manitoba and one Brine Exploration Project, Clayton Valley, Nevada

Vancouver, BC / July 13, 2016 – Pacific North West Capital Corp. (“PFN”, the “Company”) (TSX.V: PFN; Frankfurt: P7J.F; OTCQB: PAWEF announces the launch of its 2016 Exploration Program, at its 100% owned River Valley Platinum Group Metal (PGM)-Copper-Nickel Project, near the city of Sudbury, Ontario (Figure 1). PFN’s key objective for 2016 is to follow-up drilling at the high-grade T2 discovery, in order to confirm that it has the potential to warrant resource delineation drilling. To that end, the 2016 Exploration Program consists of two components: 1) a Surface Exploration Program for the summer field season; and 2) a follow-up Diamond Drill Program for the fall. Each of the components will be carried out under Exploration Permit PR-13-10095R and with financial support from the Junior Exploration Assistance Program (JEAP) (see PFN press release dated June 15th, 2016).

The Surface Exploration Program consists of geological mapping, mineral prospecting, sampling, assaying, litho-structural studies, drill core review and 3D modelling. The program focus is on areas with indications of higher-grade mineralization that remain under-explored. One such priority area is the surface above the T2 discovery (Figure 1). Two holes drilled at T2 in early 2015 (see PFN press release dated March 11, 2015) intersected higher-grade, near-surface PGM mineralization, under cover and in the footwall, to the east of the main mineralized trend at Dana North Zone. Highlights include 2.1 g/t PGM/16m from 184m downhole in Hole 1 and 2.8 g/t PGM/18m from 137m downhole in Hole 2. The T2 Discovery Mineralization remains open, up-dip to surface, at depth and east along the strike for 2 km, to the Pardo Zone (Figure 1). Furthermore, the Pardo Zone itself is mineralized, but also remains under explored.

Elsewhere at River Valley, the Surface Exploration Program will cover areas from which previous grab samples, grading up to 60 g/t PGM were taken, and that remain under explored. Previous and new assay data will be integrated with litho-structural data, in order to define the extents of potentially high-grade mineralization, within the main mineralized trend on the basal contact (i.e., Contact Style Mineralization) and internally within the River Valley Intrusion (i.e., Reef Type Mineralization) (Figure 2). In addition, the previous discovery of the Spade Zone (see PFN press release dated June 19, 2012) is to be examined for controls on the apparent thickening of the mineralization at that location (see Azen-Spade Zone in Figure 1). Overall, the Surface Exploration Program, as currently planned, requires 3-4 weeks of field time, from about mid-July to mid-September. The results of the Surface Exploration Program will be used to further guide and refine planning of the fall Diamond Drill Program.

The fall 2016 Diamond Drill Program, as currently planned, consists of four drill holes for a total of 1000m, at the T2 Discovery (Figure 3). The holes are designed to expand the near-surface, high-grade PGM mineralization up-dip, down-dip and eastward along the strike. Pending successful drill results, six additional holes are planned for drilling at T2, in early 2017. That program would then be followed by a Delineation Drill Program, for resource modelling. In addition, drill testing would be carried out on other priority T2-like targets (currently 9 in total) developed along the 12 km strike length of the River Valley PGM deposit, on PFN’s property (Figure 4).

July 5, 2016 Vancouver, Canada – Pacific North West Capital Corp. (“PFN”, the “Company”) (TSX.V: PFN; Frankfurt: P7J.F; OTCQB: PAWEF announces acquisition of a fifth Lithium Project in southeast Manitoba, through ground staking. The project is held by Lithium Canada, a 100% wholly owned subsidiary of PFN.

The Lithman East Project is situated approximately 6.5 km to the east of the Tanco Mine, which currently is producing Cesium Formate, a completion fluid for the petroleum industry, with Cesium extracted from the Tanco Pegmatite. The Tanco Pegmatite was discovered in the 1920s on the west shores of Bernic Lake. The mine went into production in 1969 and is still producing today. Previously, the Tanco Mine produced Tantalum and Spodumene (a primary Lithium ore mineral in Hard Rock Lithium mines). The mine was a Lithium mineral concentrate producer from 1986, until operations were suspended in 2009, and a Tantalum mineral concentrate producer until March 2013, when operation of the Tantalum circuit ceased. The Tanco Mine is operated by the Tantalum Mining Corporation of Canada (a division of the Cabot Corporation) and was previously North America’s largest and sole producer of Spodumene, Tantalum and Cesium. The 100% owned Lithman East Project consists of 12 claims for a total area of 2,490 hectares (6,153 acres), situated east and adjacent to mineral claims held by the Tantalum Mining Corporation of Canada.

The project area is located in the Bird River Greenstone Belt and was staked to cover portions of several Pegmatite groups in the Winnipeg River Pegmatite Field. Claims cover portions of the Bernic Lake, Rush Lake, and Birse Lake Pegmatite Groups. The Tanco Pegmatite is associated with the Bernic Lake Pegmatite Group of the Winnipeg River Pegmatite Field. Historically, numerous Pegmatites have been mapped in the region, but remain under explored. Field work is being planned to explore the area during the summer and fall of 2016.

PFN considers the Lithman East Project to have the potential to host additional Lithium-bearing Pegmatites similar to others found in the region. The area has strong infrastructure, with active mining. The staking of this additional ground increases PFN’s claims in the Winnipeg River Pegmatite Field to 33, for a total of 6,181 hectares (15,274 acres). Lithman East Project is situated approximately 1.5 km to the southwest of the Lithium North Project, 5.5 km north of the Lithium One Project, and 9 km east of the Lithman West Project. The project has excellent infrastructure and is located approximately 150 km (93 miles) northeast of the provincial capital, Winnipeg. The recent staking efforts by the company have allowed Lithium Canada and PFN to become the largest area land holders in the Winnipeg River Pegmatite Field, in southeast Manitoba.

Further announcements with regard to joint venture partners and exploration plans will be forthcoming.

  •  The company’s 100% owned River Valley PGM resource is one of the largest undeveloped primary PGM resources in Canada River Valley PGM Project

June 16th, 2016, Vancouver, Canada – Pacific North West Capital Corp. (“PFN”, the “Company”) (TSX.V: PFN; Frankfurt: P7J.F; OTCQX: PAWEF further to the company’s previous news release (PFN April 25th, 2016 News Release), the Clayton Valley Forks Li Project (“CVF”) is comprised of 73 claims for a total of approximately 583 hectares (1440 acres) and is located on the west side of Lithium X’s South

expansion Project in Clayton Valley.

(Figure 1 is a company made composite and not intended for redistribution. The company accepts no responsibility for the accuracy of other claim blocks other than the claim block associated with the Clayton Valley Forks Li Project)

Mr Barr Chairmen and CEO of PFN stated “With the completion of this acquisition, our company has acquired its first strategic USA Lithium Brine asset. The Clayton valley Fork Li Project is situated in North America’s only Lithium Brine producing area, where approximately 4% of the world’s supply of Lithium Brine is produced. Due to growing demand, decreasing supply and increasing price of Lithium, Clayton Valley has become host to one of the largest project acquisitions and staking rushes in recent Nevada history. We look forward to developing and implementing an aggressive exploration and development program on this strategic project.”

The Property is strategically located south of the Silver Peak Lithium Mine operated by Albemarle Corp. Pure Energy Minerals Limited’s Clayton Valley South project is situated on the east side of Clayton Valley and the Clayton Valley Forks Li Project is situated on the opposite side of the valley, the west side.

The company plans to test for Lithium-Bearing Aquifers thru the Project Area. The company’s technical team believes that geological structures of the sediment-filled Clayton Valley basin, underlying the claims, contains sediments that, based on previous work in the area, have the potential to lead to new Li discoveries. The geological environment appears similar throughout the basin, but the company’s technical team is reviewing all available data, to build an exploration plan that is slated to begin the Summer/Fall of 2016.

The project is situated over an area that is believed to contain favourable geology, faults, ground water and possible Lithium-Bearing source rocks. The west side of the north-south trending Clayton Valley Basin lies within a geological belt of right lateral deformation, near the western edge of the Basin and Range geological province. The project area also a straddles the Walker Lane wrench fault zone, which is still active today. Aerial photos reveal strong faults on the mountains west of the project that roughly trend northerly-southerly. This faulting system may have formed structural traps which could contain accumulated lithium rich brines. Upcoming exploration programs will focus on geophysics and drilling.

Further announcements will be forthcoming, with regard to the projects near completion, further exploration and development plans, as well as other acquisitions in Canada and the United States.

Nevada the Lithium Hub

Nevada Building a Future for Green Energy Manufacturing

The Nevada government is actively embracing the Lithium Energy market and future ventures. In March 2016 the Nevada Board gave final approval to the Faraday Futures $1 Billion dollar electric car factory in North Las Vegas. Once this plant is operating it is estimated that it will create over 4500 jobs for the area. Tesla received over $1.25 Billion in tax incentives from the Nevada government to start up their $5 Billion Giga-factory in Reno, Nevada. The Nevada government is backing the new growth in the Lithium-ion battery and electric car market. Future projected market growth will also increase the need for Lithium-ion batteries. At present, the Clayton Valley area produces 4% of the world’s Lithium Carbonate production.

Clayton Valley is located in Esmeralda County of Nevada, host to the Albemarle Corporation’s Silver Peak Lithium Mine and Brine processing operations. The mine has been in operation since 1967 and remains the only Brine based Lithium Producer in North America. The new project acquisition in Nevada will allow the company a project in an area that is well known for its Lithium Carbonate production. Clayton Valley is a centralized location in Nevada with highway access, power infrastructure, water and local labour. The company’s new Lithium Brine Project will be approximately 3.5 hours away from Tesla’s Gigafactory, which has a planned annual Lithium-ion battery production capacity of 35 gigawatt-hours per year by 2020. The CV West Li project is located approximately 3 hours north of the Faraday Electric Car Factory to be operated in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Clayton Valley was one of the few locations globally known to contain commercial-grade Lithium-Enriched Brines.

About The Company’s Lithium Division

The company’s new Lithium Division will focus on the acquisition, exploration and development of Lithium Projects in Canada. In the United States, the company will use its wholly owned U.S.A subsidiary to acquire and develop projects in active mining camps in Nevada, Arizona and California.

Management believes that these New Age Metals, Lithium, PGM’s and Rare Earths, have robust macro trends with surging demands and limited supply. Going forward, this new division will explore for the minerals needed to fuel the demand for energy storage and other core 21st Century Technologies.

In addition to the Lithium Brine potential of the CV West Li Project in Nevada, the company has and is developing Hard Rock Lithium Projects in Canada (April-21st-2016-PFN- Clayton Valley). The Lithium One Project in southeast Manitoba: May-3rd-2016-PFN-Completes-acquisition-Lithium-One- is located 8.5 kilometers south of the Tanco Mine Site, North America’s richest and longest operating Hard Rock mine for Tantalum, Lithium and Cesium. Recently, PFN adds another Manitoba site: May-24th-2016-PFN-grabs-Lithman-West-Lithium-Project, along with a 3rd site: June-15th-2016-Pacific-North-West-Capital-Acquires-4th-100%-Owned-Lithium-Project-Lithman-North.

Lithium and Platinum group metal prices have improved dramatically in recent months. Lithium supplies remain in deficit relative to their demand. Both metals groups are used for the expanding worldwide automobile industry (conventional and electric). In the case of PGM’s, demand is increasing for Autocatalysts, a key component for reducing toxic emissions for automotive, gasoline and diesel engines. In regards to Lithium, there is an ever increasing demand for batteries in cellphones, laptops, electric cars, solar storage, wireless charging and renewable energy products.

Posted by AGORACOM-JC at 9:17 AM on Wednesday, June 15th, 2016

  • -The company acquires 4th 100% owned Lithium project-Lithman North Project is 15 kilometers to the northwest of the Tanco Mine site in southeast Manitoba-The Tanco Mine was Canada’s largest producer of Spodumene, Tantalum and Cesium, producing from the Tanco Pegmatite

-Spodumene is mined from Pegmatites and is one of the primary Lithium ore minerals in hard rock Lithium mines

-Lithman North project is situated approximately 17 kilometers to the northwest of the Lithium West Project and 12 kilometers north of the Lithium One Project.

-To date this brings the total amounts of company’s claims in the Winnipeg River Pegmatite Field to 21, for a total of 3,691 hectares (9,120 acres)

June 15th, 2016 Vancouver, Canada / Pacific North West Capital Corp. (“PFN”, the “Company”) (TSX.V: PFN; Frankfurt: P7J.F; OTCQX: PAWEF announces that it has acquired another Lithium project in southeast Manitoba through staking. The project will be held by Lithium Canada, which is a 100% subsidiary of PFN.

The Lithman North Project is situated to the northwest of the present day Tanco Mine, which currently is producing Cesium Formate, a completion fluid for the petroleum industry. The Tanco Mine, was previously known as North America’s largest producer of Spodumene, Tantalum and Cesium. Spodumene is one of the primary Lithium ores minerals in hard rock Lithium mines. The 100% owned project consists of 3 claims for a total area of 372 hectares (919 acres).

Click Image To View Full Size

The project area is situated in the Bird River Greenstone Belt and was staked to cover several large Pegmatites as found on government maps. The Pegmatites have had little exploration and there are no historical records. A field review of the Pegmatites showed them to be Albite Pegmatites with a complex mineralogy. Field work is being planned to explore them for the summer of 2016. They are located approximately 15 kilometers to the northwest of the Tanco Minesite and on the northern margin of the Winnipeg River Pegmatite Field.

The Tanco Pegmatite was discovered on the west side of Bernic Lake from surface drilling in the 1920’s. The mine went into production in 1969 and has produced over the years, in varying capacity, and is still producing today. It is a buried Pegmatite and not exposed at surface, except for under Bernic Lake. It is an extremely fractionated, rare-metal, complex type-Petalite subgroup, LCT (Lithium-Cesium-Tantalum) Pegmatite and is hosted by a late stage, subvolcanic Gabbro. The total tonnage of the Tanco Gabbro Pegmatite has been calculated to be approximately 25 million tons. It is a part of the Bernic Lake Pegmatite Group of the Winnipeg River Pegmatite Field.

The company considers the Lithman North Project to have the potential to host additional Lithium-bearing Pegmatites similar to others found in the region. The area has strong infrastructure and is an active mining area. The staking of this additional ground has increased the claims in the Winnipeg River Pegmatite Field to 21 for a total of 3,691 hectares (9,120 acres). Lithman North Project is situated approximately 17 kilometers to the northwest of the Lithium West Project and 12 kilometers north of the Lithium One Project. The project has excellent infrastructure and is located approximately 150 km (93 miles) northeast of the provincial capital, Winnipeg. Claims are to the east of Bird Lake and a gravel based highway (HWY 315) runs through the project area.

With respect to the Lithman North Project, a finder’s fee in the amount of 60,000 shares of the Company is payable to Carey Galeschuk. The finder’s fee is subject to TSX Venture Exchange approval.

All shares issued in connection with the finder’s fee are subject to a four month and one day hold period from the date of issuance.

Further announcements with regards to joint venture partners and exploration plans will be forthcoming.

The Company has a growing portfolio of Lithium projects. The Clayton Valley Forks Li Project in Nevada is a recent Lithium brine project acquired by the Company. (PFN News Releases April 25th, 2016, May 9th, 2016 and May 24th, 2016) The Company also has hard rock Lithium projects in Canada.
