  • VIE.gg CS:GO Legend Series Reaches Record 1.7 Million Unique Viewers
  • Tournament Now the Most-Watched Legend Series Event in Allied Esports History
  • New registered users grew 400% and customer deposits increased 300% during the two-week period of the VIE.gg CS:GO Legend Series Tournament compared to the same two weeks in the prior month

BIRKIRKARA, Malta, Sept. 17, 2020 — Esports Entertainment Group, Inc. (NasdaqCM: GMBL, GMBLW) (or the “Company”), a licensed online gambling company with a focus on esports wagering and 18+ gaming, today announced new registered users grew 400% and customer deposits increased 300% during the two-week period of the VIE.gg CS:GO Legend Series Tournament compared to the same two weeks in the prior month.

The Company’s partner, Allied Esports, a global esports entertainment company and a subsidiary of Allied Esports Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ: AESE), drew 1.7 million unique viewers for the VIE.gg CS:GO Legend Series tournament, which ended Sunday, September 13. The two-week competition, which also generated over 1 million hours watched and reached 98,000 peak viewers, is the most-watched Legend Series event since the tournament series was created in 2017.

“We are absolutely thrilled with the viewership numbers for the VIE.gg CS:GO Legend Series, a new benchmark for Allied Esports and a great introduction of our VIE.gg brand to fans around the world,” commented Grant Johnson, CEO of Esports Entertainment Group. “With a 400% increase in new users and 300% increase in deposits, we’ve clearly demonstrated there is demand for our platform. This was a great start to our marketing efforts, and we’re excited to pursue similar opportunities moving forward.”

Each broadcast during the VIE.gg CS:GO Legend Series tournament prominently featured a wagering component, including dynamic live odds that were on display for the entirety of each match.

“This tournament was an excellent start to our partnership with Esports Entertainment Group, as we introduced their wagering platform to millions of people around the world, and we look forward to creating more valuable content with them in the near future,” said Frank Ng, CEO of Allied Esports Entertainment. “The VIE.gg CS:GO Legend Series is a great example of the ability of our tournaments to deliver dedicated content to an enthusiastic, engaged audience, and we will continue to develop these brands to meet the needs of partners as the esports industry continues to evolve.”

The professional Counter-Strike tournament, which was produced from Allied Esports’ HyperX Esports Studio in Hamburg, Germany, was a global event reaching esports audiences across multiple continents and languages. Allied Esports worked with various partners to broadcast the tournament on Twitch in six languages – English, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, French and German – and on Chinese streaming platform HUYA, which carried both English and Chinese streams.

The VIE.gg CS:GO Legend Series featured 16 Counter-Strike teams from multiple European countries, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) region and South America, including seven teams ranked in the top 50 globally. Kazakhstan’s Winstrike, which jumped from No. 60 in the world at the start of the tournament to No. 34, defeated 32nd-ranked Heretics from France 3-0 in the best-of-five Grand Final to secure the first VIE.gg CS:GO Legend Series title and €17,000 of the €50,000 total prize pool. Every game from the two-week tournament can be watched in full at youtube.com/alliedesports.

“We are very happy with the results of our first esports tournament sponsorship and the strong uptick in new sign ups and deposits we saw as a result of reaching millions of fans globally,” added Magnus Leppäniemi, Vice President of Marketing and Head of Esports at Vie.gg. “The VIE.gg CS:GO Legend Series provided a great opportunity to support tier 2 and tier 3 teams, a large and important segment of the esports community, and we look forward to continuing our support of these teams in the future.”

The VIE.gg CS:GO Legend Series was Allied Esports’ seventh edition of the CS:GO Legend Series and the 13th Legend Series event overall and part of its efforts to expand the competitive ecosystem and total prize pool for teams ranked outside of the first tier.

Esports is the future of gaming

  • If it is said that esports is the most growing industry worldwide these days then it is not wrong
  • It is because this industry has a high economic value and it attracts many young players

By Staff Report

If it is said that esports is going to replace the real sports anytime soon then it is not wrong. It may sound like a big statement being made without any evidence but there are many pieces of evidence to support it. People are all ready to be digitally connected and they are playing the games all over the internet by paying on their own.

Olympics will have virtual games:

It is expected that the Olympics committee is suggesting to make virtual games a part of their next tournament. That’s how not only many new games will have emerged but the concept of traditional play may also be changed. People will also love to move in those dimensions where they can experience a new environment. It seems true also because FIFA 18 also have registered above 60 online competitions then why not in the next Olympics.

Free games attract youngsters:

If casinos are checked, there exist many casinos that allow you to play free games even. The user can even practice the skills by playing these offline. The free games are a very unique idea in casinos. It is truly the best way for the company to earn money and it will benefit them in real meaning shortly. The Bestbonus offers many free benefits and awards which brings a lot of audience towards them. They divide the bonuses into kinds like through free spins and no deposit bonuses which makes people more excited to participate.

Esports is a rapidly growing industry:

If it is said that esports is the most growing industry worldwide these days then it is not wrong. It is because this industry has a high economic value and it attracts many young players. This trend is getting common because of the excessive usage of phone and availability of free spins like in best bonus. The mobile games and now the virtual reality games are almost combined and it shows the future of the gaming world. What will be the future of real-world games, nobody knows.

People consider it a sport:

It is important to know that how people perceive e-sport. Do they take it as a real sport? The answer would simply be Yes esports and e gaming has made its mark in the industry. It is not easy to differentiate between real sports and e-sport because traditional sports have quality men who call them sportsmen. But the people being part of e-sport can not claim to be sportsmen because they hardly do any workout to be fit enough.

The sportsmen criteria are different for both the sports:

People playing esports have different skills like the eye movement, their fine finger and hand skills through which they can make a correct decision at the right time. On the other hand, traditional sports require body workout and fitness to participate.

Money makes the difference:

In normal sport, people play, perform, win and get the reward. On the other hand, esports or gaming offers multiple awards for free initially to get the players by giving them bonuses. This is how people move towards esports even if they will have to pay to play because they know the benefits and rewards can also be claimed later on. Though it is always not necessary to pay to get some bonus as many sites offers to play without paying a single penny just like Bestbonus.

DraftKings surges 12% after Michael Jordan takes equity stake and special adviser role

  • DraftKings surged as much as 12% on Wednesday after basketball legend Michael Jordan took an equity interest in the firm.
  • Jordan’s stake comes in exchange for “providing guidance and strategic advice” to the sports betting company, according to a press release.
  • The six-time NBA champion will advise DraftKings on a variety of topics including company strategy, development, diversity, equity, and marketing.

DraftKings shares rocketed as much as 12% on Wednesday after announcing basketball superstar Michael Jordan took an equity stake in the company.

The six-time National Basketball Association champion took an equity interest in exchange for “providing guidance and strategic advice” to DraftKings’ board of directors, according to a Wednesday press release. The sports betting company plans to tap Jordan for input on company strategy, development, diversity, equity, and marketing activities.

“The strategic counsel and business acumen Michael brings to our board is invaluable, and I am excited to have him join our team,” CEO and co-founder Jason Robins said in the release.

Jordan’s role as a special advisor to DraftKing’s board of directors is effective immediately, the company said.

DraftKings began trading publicly in April after merging with special-purpose acquisition company Diamond Eagle. Shares have since rallied as investors position for sports gambling to pick up as major leagues resume activity.

The exposure to major sports in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic cuts both ways. While the start of the NBA and Major League Baseball seasons boosted shares, the stock tumbled as much as 13% on July 27 when a COVID outbreak halted several MLB games.

DraftKings closed at $36.93 per share on Tuesday, up 247% year-to-date.

The International 10 Has The Biggest #Esports Prize Pool Ever At $34 Million – SPONSOR: Esports Entertainment Group $GMBL $DKNG $PENN $GAN $ESPO $AESE $EGLX.ca $BRAG.ca $FDM.ca

The International 10 Has The Biggest Esports Prize Pool Ever At $34 Million

  • The prize pool for The International 10 Dota 2 tournament has become the biggest prize pool in esports history after surpassing last year’s total of $34,330,068.

By: Mike Stubbs Contributor

At the time of writing the total prize pool for The International 10 sits at $34,333,874, surpassing last year’s total and officially becoming the biggest prize pool in esports history.

The prize pool for The International 10 has been crowdfunded by the sale of in-game items within Dota 2. 25% of all purchases of The International 10 Battle Pass, Battle Pass Levels, and a number of other cosmetic items is contributed to the prize pool, which allows it to grow to unprecedented levels.

There is still a few weeks left on the crowdfunding drive, so you can expect that number to grow further, with it likely to surpass the $35 million mark before the end of the Battle Pass. The prize pool has been steadily growing over the past few weeks and there is no reason why that would stop now.

The increase over last year has come as a surprise to some, as The International 10 has been postponed into 2021 due to the pandemic. Typically the crowdfunding drive runs during the tournament, which usually gives the total a nice boost in the final days, but this year that was obviously not possible.

Valve posted an update earlier this week that explained that due to the ongoing pandemic the Dota Pro Circuit and The International 10 are currently postponed indefinitely, with no expected date to return. The initial hope was that the Dota Pro Circuit would be able to return as planned this autumn, but with the pandemic still going that is clearly not feasible.

With TI10 postponed indefinitely, there is no telling how this will work with The International 11 and its Battle Pass. Dota 2 fans expect a Battle Pass every summer for The International, but if TI10 does not happen before then there is a chance there may not be a battle pass next year or at least one that adds to the prize pool.

The new record prize pool puts The International 10 at the top of the biggest esports tournaments ever, with the next entries also dominated by The International tournaments from previous years. The Fortnite World Cup is the only real challenger to The International, with $15 million prize pools for both the solo and duos tournaments.

BIRKIRKARA, Malta, Aug. 17, 2020 — Esports Entertainment Group, Inc. (NasdaqCM: GMBL, GMBLW) ( the “Company”), a licensed online gambling company with a focus on esports wagering and 18+ gaming, is pleased to announce an expanded partnership with Dignitas, the esports vertical of New Meta Entertainment Inc. (NME) and one of the most successful esports organizations in the world. The Company’s online betting platform, VIE.gg, became an official multi-year partner of Dignitas in June 2019, and under the expanded partnership, it has now secured the naming rights of Dignitas’ famed CS:GO team.

“Dignitas is a true leader in the esports community,” said Grant Johnson, CEO. “Expanding our existing partnership and placing our brand in front of the millions of engaged Dignitas fans around the world further demonstrates our commitment to growing VIE.gg into the leading wagering platform in esports globally.”

In addition to VIE.gg’s integration into the CS:GO naming rights and jersey, the partners will roll out strategic digital and physical activations with the New Jersey marketplace as a core focus. In June 2018, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy signed Assembly Bill 411, legalizing sports betting in New Jersey. One year later, Dignitas became the first esports organization to open a gaming facility in Newark, New Jersey, next to the famed sports and entertainment facility, Prudential Center. In addition to U.S. sports betting, the partnership also paves the way into the European marketplace through association with Dignitas’ famed CS:GO team hailing from Scandinavia.

“The partnership’s focus on digital and physical activations in the New Jersey market is ideally timed for us as we move forward on our application for our New Jersey gaming license,” continued Johnson.

Esports Entertainment Group, a member of ESIC, is working together with NME, to ensure that conflicts of interest and betting and age requirement rules are upheld throughout.

“We are honored to partner with an innovative, multinational brand like VIE.gg,” said Michael Prindiville, CEO of New Meta Entertainment and Dignitas. “Our co-branded CS:GO team and the immense opportunity around esports betting content in our home state of New Jersey enable us to tell unique and engaging stories at the forefront of both esports betting and competition to millions of fans worldwide.”

“We are excited to further expand our partnership with Dignitas,” commented Magnus Leppäniemi, VP of Marketing and Head of Esports at Esports Entertainment Group. “As a committed long-term partner, we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to co-brand our VIE.gg platform alongside Dignitas’ legendary CS:GO team, an opportunity that can introduce our brand to millions of esports fans globally and help establish our status as a Tier 1 operator within esports betting.”

ABOUT DIGNITAS:

Since its formation in 2003, Dignitas has established itself as one of the most successful esports organizations in the world, amassing 18 World Championships across multiple game titles. In September 2016, Dignitas was acquired by the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers of Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment (HBSE), a diverse, global portfolio of sports and entertainment franchises and properties that includes the Philadelphia 76ers (NBA), New Jersey Devils (NHL) and more. In June 2019, Dignitas merged with Fertitta Entertainment’s League of Legends LCS franchise, Clutch Gaming, and through investment with Susquehanna International Group and Delaware North, formed the parent company New Meta entertainment, Inc. (NME), to expand the esports business into a broader digital sports and entertainment company. Dignitas currently fields seven teams in five of esports’ largest and most popular games: League of Legends, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (men’s and women’s teams), Super Smash Bros., Rocket League, and Clash Royale – as well as a host of digital influencers. With player content studios and wellness facilities in Newark, NJ and Los Angeles, and infrastructure in Europe and China, Dignitas is the global leader dedicated to esports athletes and gaming entertainers.

The astronomical rise of esports

  • If this is your first time hearing about esports, you’re behind the curve — esports is one of the fastest growing industries in the world
  • Last year, the esports industry had an estimated audience of 453 million, up from 293 million in 2016

By Derek Chen July 22, 2020

If you’re bored during quarantine and looking for a fun, popular and lucrative way to pass the time, consider putting down that baking pan or pausing that Netflix show and picking up a controller to join the world of esports, a hot trend in the media and entertainment industry. Esports is a competitive video game sport that has grown to incorporate organized tournaments with professional players. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, these tournaments were almost always in-person events, complete with live audiences and referees who monitored potential cheating.

If this is your first time hearing about esports, you’re behind the curve — esports is one of the fastest growing industries in the world. Last year, the esports industry had an estimated audience of 453 million, up from 293 million in 2016. By 2021, that number is expected to reach 557 million. And it’s not just your stereotypical G Fuel-drinking, Doritos-loving high school guys pushing this growth: Universities across the nation have begun investing in this industry. According to the National Association of Collegiate Esports, more than 170 U.S. colleges have varsity esports programs and are offering around $16 million per year in scholarships. College esports tournaments have attracted over 1,350 schools and 40,000 players.

Even the most traditional Wall Street bankers are taking notice of this industry’s potential to make big money. Most esport viewers are in their teens or early twenties, a much-coveted demographic for advertisers, and 43% of esports fans have an annual household income of $75,000. For brands who want to acquire new, young, high-spending customers, esports is especially attractive. Louis Vuitton, for example, is collaborating with video game developer Riot Games to design virtual items in League of Legends (such as “prestige skins”) that players can buy using real money. The fashion brand also spent 900 hours creating an extravagant custom trophy case that combines Louis Vuitton’s bougie flair with League of Legends’ medieval style. Meanwhile, some companies have profited from esports without even trying. In 2018, professional gamer Ninja crashed the website of MeUndies just by mentioning the underwear brand on a livestream.

Why has esports experienced this meteoric rise in popularity and significance? From a social standpoint, esports is far more inclusive than other sports. Men and women of nearly all ages and from various social groups and demographics can play on the same teams and easy translation in the virtual format tears down the language barrier. Unlike in real sports, where genetics may greatly affect your potential to succeed, in esports, anyone with enough practice can become a competent gamer — and everyone has the potential to compete with the best.

From a technological standpoint, video games with increasingly life-like visuals have enhanced the viewing experience. Games now frequently run on a smooth 60 frames per second with 4K resolution, resulting in extremely realistic animations and an immersive experience. The rise of esports can also be traced to the rise of video games among youth. According to Pew Research, 90% of teens aged 13-17 played video games in 2018. The percentage is 97% among boys of that age. With a high number of youth playing games, it’s not hard to imagine that a few would get interested in esports and start the trend among their peers.

The viewership of esports will only grow, especially as famous names in other industries, such as Jennifer Lopez and Travis Scott, associate themselves with leading esports tournaments. The growth of advertising in esports means that brands will now interface directly with previously hard-to-reach audiences, generating previously unthinkable ways to advertise and making space for unlimited creative potential. So, if you want to curb your bread-making addiction during quarantine and spend this extra time getting ahead of the game (pun absolutely intended), consider esports.
