White House Web 2.0; Forums and Real-Time Questions. Hmmm…

Posted by AGORACOM at 11:04 AM on Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

Good morning to you all. The enclosed video is just 2:52 but provides a strong outline of Obama’s technology policies. One of the policies that we found particularly exciting is the creation of online forums providing citizens with an ability to post questions and receive answers in real-time.

Where have we heard that before? 🙂 Barack, if you’re looking for a working and proven platform, give us a call.

We’re excited about the fact that President-Elect Obama gets it. He understands how to use technology as a powerful communications tool, rather than fearing it. He understands that people are going to have both positive and negative conversations – and chooses to be a part of it.

White House 2.0. Has a nice ring to it.

UPDATE (NOV 16) – Obama today announced that he will be using YouTube to post weekly addresses and other updates to the nation.

Regards,
George

Congratulations President-Elect Obama. The World Is Behind You. Make Us Proud

Posted by AGORACOM at 12:43 AM on Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

The time has come to put aside our politics and unite behind the new leader of the free world.  I have no doubt Senator John McCain would have been a good leader…. but I have no doubt that President-Elect Barack Obama will be an excellent leader, the leader the United States and the entire planet needed at this point in time.

Congratulations.  Good luck.  Make us proud.  Make us believe again.  The entire planet is behind you.

I’m going to sleep and, for the first time in a long time, looking forward to waking up to a new era.

George

Futures ($DJIA) Turn Sharply And Go Green At 10:15 PM.

Posted by AGORACOM at 10:50 PM on Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

Compare these numbers with futures action (below) until this point.  This is a sharp turnaround and coincides with certainty that Obama and the Democrats are about to sweep.  Let’s hope this is the beginning of good things to come.

Futures ($DJIA) As Of 9:30 PM Are Yawning To Obama Lead

Posted by AGORACOM at 10:14 PM on Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

As of 9:30 PM, markets are shrugging off the fact that Obama has all but locked down the election.  Did we already have our Obama rally, or is the market making sure it doesn’t get “2004’d” with a last second Republican win?

Futures ($DJI, $IXIC, $GSPC) Moving Slightly Lower As Of 8:15 PM

Posted by AGORACOM at 8:39 PM on Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

Futures have moved slightly lower since 6:00. So far, no “Obama” effect on futures even as electoral votes show Obama convincingly ahead.  Still early and we’re still monitoring.

George

Financial Post: AGORACOM Is The Site Retail Investors Famously Use To Fight Takeovers.

Posted by AGORACOM at 6:22 PM on Saturday, November 1st, 2008

Good evening, folks.  This story was originally posted by the Financial Post on the morning of October 27th in anticipation of the Noront Resources AGM proxy showdown – but seems to have been replaced by this story using the same URL.  This was probably done after the surprise “compromise” announcement on the very same morning.

Fortunately, I was able to pick up the cached version.  I don’t know how long Google caches an article, so I’ve grabbed an image of the salient excerpt:

Cool. Thanks to Peter Koven for the great words.  Here are my posts on the Noront Battle and the Aurelian Battle.

AGORACOM Client Intelligence Report – October 2008

We’re pleased to provide you with the October 2008 edition of the AGORACOM Client Intelligence Report.

WHY AN “INTELLIGENCE REPORT”

For the benefit of our new clients, we call this newsletter an Intelligence Report because it provides you with important information, data and trends that impact your business – information that you normally don’t have time to find.

In addition, this newsletter gives you a chance to look into our crystal ball and know what AGORACOM is working on months before the general public. You can’t find these tidbits on our blog, so we call them “Off The Blog” and ask that you keep them confidential. As you know, we move faster than any IR firm on the planet, so knowing what we are doing in advance helps both of us coordinate our activities. This is especially true for what we expect to be an extremely fast moving and exciting year in 2009.

In short, greater market intelligence that puts you ahead of all of your peers.

I can’t stress enough my recommendation that you review our monthly newsletter carefully for the purposes of incorporating some of our market intelligence into both your IR and business initiatives.  AGORACOM is now the largest small-cap IR firm and site on the continent thanks to our effective use of web technology.  As such, following us will help you achieve your goals.

OFF THE BLOG … Shhhhh

**For confidentiality reasons, the “Off The Blog” items are not mentioned in the blog posts as they are only available to AGORACOM clients**

AGORACOM Sponsors Roth China/Vegas Conference. Jim Rogers Provides Keynote Presentation

Posted by AGORACOM at 9:58 AM on Thursday, October 30th, 2008

AGORACOM is proud to announce we will be sponsoring the Roth Capital Partners China/Vegas Conference, November 19-21.

As readers of the AGORACOM Blog and viewers of AGORACOM TV know, we are very bullish on Chinese small-cap companies and believe they represent the buying opportunity of a lifetime. The current market turmoil does nothing to change our sentiment.

If you feel the same way, this is a “must attend” conference. This conference is by invitation only, so contact ROTH directly for additional details at (800) 678-9147 or e-mail: [email protected].

JIM ROGERS PROVIDES KEYNOTE PRESENTATION

One person that shares our sentiment and will be in attendance is Jim Rogers, co-founder of the Quantum Fund along with Billionaire George Soros and subject of extensive coverage here on AGORACOM. Rogers will give a presentation titled China and its macro and micro environment. He will also provide signed copies of his recent best seller: A Bull in China: Investing Profitably in the World’s Greatest Market.

George
