The federal government has announced it intends to appeal a recent Federal Court order that allows thousands of patients to continue growing their own marijuana while patients challenge the government’s plan to change the system.

Health Canada said in a brief statement Monday that it disagrees with the injunction the court issued earlier this month and will challenge it.

The injunction allows patients who are licensed to possess or grow medical marijuana to continue to grow their own pot while patients take the government to court over plans to overhaul the marijuana system.

That proceeding is expected to be scheduled within the next year.

Canada’s medical marijuana system has allowed licensed patients to grow their own pot since 2001. But Health Canada has repeatedly said it does not endorse the use of marijuana.

It’s also suggested that federal officials have only been running a medical pot program because the courts have said there must be reasonable access to the drug.

Health Canada says the medical marijuana program has been open to serious abuse and that the risks related to marijuana grow-ops, such as fires and crime, outweigh the patients’ rights to grow their own pot.

Health Canada wants to bring in a new system to restrict medical marijuana production to licensed commercial producers only.

Patients are contesting those plans because they say the marijuana will become more expensive and they won’t have as much control over which strains of the drug they use.

AGORACOM Best Of The Best – March 28, 2014

Posted by AGORACOM-JC at 6:23 PM on Friday, March 28th, 2014

During the past few shows I had been recommending investors take some profits and build up cash. The reason was I had seen a lot of quality resource stocks had moved up a lot, and it was getting harder to find companies to talk about on the end of the week show. Today I talked about the reasons that I think that short term trend has run its course and in the coming weeks we would have more stocks to pick for the weekly show. I see a bottoming from the short term pullback and the forming of a base to move up from.

Companies included on this week’s show are:

Forum Uranium (FDC.V),

Enterprise Group (E.T),

Stornoway Diamond Corp. (SWY.T),

Premier Gold (PG.T)

WHY IS JULY 11, 2013 SO IMPORTANT?

Allan and George have already put their viewers well ahead of the game by starting their weekly broadcasts on July 11, 2013 on the thesis that great small-cap companies were so oversold they could not be ignored. One look at the TSX Venture Index proves they hit the nail on the head … but that doesn’t come close to telling the whole story with most of their picks far outperforming an exchange bloated with zombie companies.

Find out which companies Allan and George like this week by watching the video below!

Pacific Potash Corp Provides Corporate Update

Posted by AGORACOM-JC at 9:22 AM on Friday, March 28th, 2014

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA – March 28th 2014 / Pacific Potash Corporation (TSX-V: PP; OTCQX: PPOTF; FSE: P9P, “Pacific Potash”, “the Company”) is pleased to provide a corporate update regarding its Amazonas Potash Project in Brazil.

As released prior, in the Company’s January 21st news release, Pacific Potash has completed drilling its first well on its 100% owned Amazonas Potash Project. The well was drilled to a total depth of 1421m, and in total 960m of core has been obtained from the well. The core has been cut, logged and prepared for assaying.

Core Samples and Assays

Pacific Potash reviewed Brazil for an assay lab to complete the analysis of the core samples, however it found that there are no existing Brazilian labs equipped to assay for evaporites.

As a result of these findings, Management has decided to ship the core samples out of Brazil for analysis, and the Company’s Brazilian subsidiary is in the last phase of receiving the required export permit from the Brazilian Government to ship the core samples to Canada. The process of obtaining the export permit has been complicated by the DNPM’s delay in transfer title for the potash claims from a 3rd party to the Company. The transfer request has been over two years in processing and during this time the Brazilian Government had a moratorium on claim transfers while awaiting the unveiling of the country’s new mining laws. The 3rd party company’s consent was required for the government to process Pacific Potash’s export permit. The Company now has that consent in hand and expects the export permit to be issued shortly.

Pacific Potash has selected Acme Analytical Laboratories Ltd in Vancouver to complete the assays. Assay results will be released when received.

Memorandum of Understanding

The Company’s cornerstone investor and strategic advisor, Capital Asia continues to assist Pacific Potash in discussions with China’s state owned enterprise (“S.O.E”), as the S.O.E. advances toward a final decision with respect to providing the Company with $10 million in the form of an unsecured convertible debenture. Both parties are working diligently to complete their obligations and continue to work in good faith to complete due diligence. As previously disclosed, the parties intend that the $10,000,000 convertible debenture would convert into shares of Pacific Potash at a conversion price of $0.37 per common share. The S.O.E.’s aggregate beneficial ownership in the Company will not exceed 19.9% of the common shares of Pacific Potash at the time of exercise of these conversion rights. The Convertible Debenture shall bear interest at the rate of 5% per annum, payable semi-annually and share mature on the date which is two (2) years from the date of issuance.

We Seek Safe Harbor.

On behalf of the Board,

Pacific Potash Corporation

Balbir Johal

Executive Co-Chairman, Director & CEO

Bold Ventures Inc. and KWG Resources Inc.: Black Horse Drilling Update

Posted by AGORACOM-JC at 10:57 AM on Thursday, March 27th, 2014

TORONTO, ONTARIO–(March 27, 2014) – Bold Ventures Inc. (TSX VENTURE:BOL) (“Bold“) and KWG Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:KWG) (“KWG“) are pleased to report that the 5,000 metre drilling program which commenced January 18th has been completed. The program met its objective of extending the Black Horse chromite deposit to depth.

A total of six holes were drilled during the program: three on the Black Horse deposit and three on an untested gravity anomaly known as the C-6 target, one kilometer northeast of the Black Horse. It should be noted that further work, at depth, in the vicinity of the C-6 target remains to be accomplished in order to adequately test the nickel potential in this vicinity.

FN-14-038, the first hole at the C-6 target was drilled south to north and intersected low grade chromite mineralization from 73.77 metres to 107.20 metres totalling 33.4 metres (109.7 ft). Chromite was also intersected closer to surface in highly sheared rock with low core recovery. The hole was terminated in granite.

A second hole, FN-14-039, was collared 100 metres (328 ft) to the south, and drilled north underneath hole FN-14-038. After passing through some volcanic rock, the hole intersected a major shear zone from 116 to 265 metres for a total interval of 149 metres (488.7 ft), with abundant quartz-carbonate veining and trace sulphides. This is the northeastern extension of the JJJ zone first recognized on the Noront property where it contains elevated gold values, and which was drilled through many times during the 2013 Black Horse drilling campaign. Beyond the shear zone, the hole intersected pyroxenite with minor chromite and was also terminated in granite.

The third hole at the C-6 target, FN-14-041, was collared 105 metres (344.4 ft) to the east. It encountered the JJJ shear zone from 71.5 metres to 175.5 metres totalling 104 metres (341.1 ft) which was followed by pyroxenite to the end of the hole at 365 metres (1197.2 ft). The pyroxenite in this hole is not that of the east-west oriented Ring of Fire intrusion, but is rather a north-south dyke discernible from its faint gravity anomaly with a coincidental magnetic high that could be interpreted to be a feeder dyke to the Ring of Fire intrusion.

The objective of drilling the Black Horse chromite deposit was to expand the inferred resource category to depth. Three holes were completed:

FN-14-040 is a 1233 metre (4044.2 ft) hole in the central portion, southwest of the deep intercept of hole FN-10-026 drilled by Fancamp Exploration Ltd. in 2011; FN-14-042C is a 1131 metre (3709.7 ft) hole drilled near the western claim boundary; and FN-14-043 is an 850 metre (2788 ft) hole that targeted, at a shallower depth, the midpoint between the other two holes. All three holes intersected chromite mineralization:

Hole FN-14-040 intersected chromite mineralization from 1041.67 metres to 1181.47 metres totalling 139.8 metres (358.6 ft), including a massive to semi-massive interval from 1099.5 metres to 1181.47 metres for a total interval of 82.0 metres (269.0 ft);

Hole FN-14-042C encountered chromite from 903.7 metres to 1070.96 metres totalling 167.3 metres (548.8 ft) containing mixed massive, semi-massive, and heavily disseminated intervals;

Hole FN-14-043 intersected heavily disseminated semi-massive and massive chromite from 712.59 metres to 800.52 metres for an interval of 87.93 metres (288.4 ft) including a massive unit from 756.25 metres to 790.06 metres for an interval of 33.81 metres (111 ft).

True widths of the intervals quoted in this release are not discernable at the present time. The core has been sampled and submitted to Actlabs, Thunder Bay for assay. The data from the assays will be added to the inferred resource estimate model with a view to updating the resource estimate.

M. J. (Moe) Lavigne, P. Geo., Vice-President of Exploration & Development for KWG, is the Qualified Person that has reviewed and approved the contents of this release.

About Bold Ventures:

Bold has interests in various mineral properties located in and around the Ring of Fire Area of Northern Ontario and in the Atikokan area of Northwestern Ontario. Additionally, Bold is exploring five base and precious metals properties in the Abitibi Greenstone belt of Northwestern Quebec.

About KWG:

KWG has a 30% interest in the Big Daddy chromite deposit and the right to earn 80% of the Black Horse chromite occurrence where inferred resources have been defined. KWG also owns 100% of Canada Chrome Corporation which has staked claims and conducted a $15 million surveying and soil testing program for the engineering and construction of a railroad to the Ring of Fire from Exton, Ontario.

FORWARD-LOOKING STATEMENTS

This release includes forward-looking statements. Statements which are not historical facts are forward-looking statements. The Company makes forward-looking public statements concerning its expected future financial position, results of operations, cash flows, financing plans, business strategy, products and services, competitive positions, growth opportunities, plans and objectives of management for future operations, including statements that include words such as “anticipate,” “if,” “believe,” “plan,” “estimate,” “expect,” “intend,” “may,” “could,” “should,” “will,” and other similar expressions are forward-looking statements. Such forward-looking statements are estimates reflecting the Company’s best judgment based upon current information and involve a number of risks and uncertainties, and there can be no assurance that other factors will not affect the accuracy of such forward-looking statements. It is impossible to identify all such factors but they include and are not limited to the existence of underground deposits of commercial quantities of oil and gas; cessation or delays in exploration because of mechanical, weather, operating, financial or other problems; capital expenditures that are higher than anticipated; or exploration opportunities being fewer than currently anticipated. There can be no assurance that road or site conditions will be favorable for field work; no assurance that well treatments or workovers will have any effect on oil or gas production; no assurance that oil field interconnections will have any measurable impact on oil or gas production or on field operations, and no assurance that any expected new well(s) will be drilled or have any impact on the Company. There can be no assurance that expected oil and gas production will actually materialize; and thus no assurance that expected revenue will actually occur. There is no assurance the Company will have sufficient funds to drill additional wells, or to complete acquisitions or other business transactions. Such forward looking statements also include estimated cash flows, revenue and current and/or future rates of production of oil and natural gas, which can and will fluctuate for a variety of reasons; oil and gas reserve quantities produced by third parties; and intentions to participate in future exploration drilling. Adverse weather conditions including but not limited to surface flooding can delay operations, impact production, and cause reductions in revenue. The Company may not have sufficient expertise to thoroughly exploit its oil and gas properties. The Company may not have sufficient funding to thoroughly explore, drill or develop its properties. Access to capital, or lack thereof, is a major risk and there is no assurance that the Company will be able to raise required working capital. Current oil and gas production rates may not be sustainable and targeted production rates may not occur. Factors which could cause actual results to differ materially from those estimated by the Company include, but are not limited to, government regulation, managing and maintaining growth, the effect of adverse publicity, litigation, competition and other factors which may be identified from time to time in the Company’s public announcements and filings. There is no assurance that the medical marijuana business will provide any benefit to Lexaria.
