Canadian Platinum Corp. (“CPC” or the “Company”) (TSX VENTURE:CPC) is pleased to announce the completion of flake size analysis of graphitic carbon from the samples taken from the Brabrant Property. The Brabrant Property consists of 5 mineral claims totaling 20,874 ha in the Brabant Lake area of Saskatchewan which cover several zones of graphite mineralization. The property lies south of Saskatchewan Highway 905 and is crossed by the Sask Power Hydroelectric line that extends from Island Falls to Rabbit Lake.

The initial prospecting program identified 3 zones of graphite mineralization in the north, west and southeast areas of Brabant Lake with graphite grades ranging from 1.08% to 44.5% (see CPC News Release September 10, 2012,
http://www.canadianplatinumcorp.com/investor/newsreleases/news_release091012.html). The most significant results from the preliminary prospecting and geological evaluation of the property are the Ben showing with grades ranging from 11.2% to 44.5% graphite in meta-sedimentary gneiss.

Further analyses of the samples were undertaken at the SRC Geoanalytical Laboratory in Saskatoon in order to establish the flake graphite content of each size fraction. Each sample was separated into the +0.5mm, +0.3mm, +0.18mm and -0.18 after which the samples were subjected to an HCl leach, ignited at 550 degrees C and the residue analyzed in a LECO SC144DR c/S Analyzer in order to establish the percentage of graphitic carbon in each size fraction. Analysis of the coarse size fractions (+0.5 and +0.3 mm) indicates that much of the graphite is in the coarse size fractions (Table 1). The results of these analyses are given in Table 1.

Canadian Platinum Corp. Acquires Additional Lands with Graphite Potential

Posted by AGORACOM-JC at 9:43 AM on Tuesday, July 10th, 2012

CALGARY, ALBERTA–(July 10, 2012) –

NOT FOR DISTRIBUTION TO UNITED STATES NEWSWIRE SERVICES OR FOR DISSEMINATION IN THE UNITED STATES

Canadian Platinum Corp. (“CPC” or the “Company”) (TSX VENTURE:CPC) is pleased to announce that it has added three additional claims named the Brabant Project in northern Saskatchewan which have been acquired due to the potential the area offers as a graphitic argillite prospect. The three claims that represent the Brabant Project cover 14,450 hectares (35,707 acres). The properties were acquired based on historical (non NI 43101 compliant) information reported in the Saskatchewan Mineral Deposit Index (“SMDI”) which details the areas graphite potential.

The SMDI (# 0388) reports that a showing on Claim S-112486 of the Brabant Project has a mineralization consisting of pyrite, pyrrhotite, graphite, traces of chalcopyrite, galena, and sphalerite, and a thin lens of copper stained pyrrhotite in the calc-silicate-pegmatite unit. Additionally the Index indicates graphite occurs commonly in amounts of up to p to 50%. This report goes on to say that ten grab samples returned trace to 0.54% Cu, 0.25 to 1.55% Zn, trace to 0.11% Pb, 0.02 to 0.36% MoS2, 0.005 to 0.04 oz/ton Au, and 0.01 oz/ton Ag. Grab sample No. 3 returned trace Cu, 6.56% Zn, 36.11% Pb, 0.5% MoS2, 0.04 oz/ton Au, and 4.68 oz/ton Ag.

Claim S-112485 of the Brabant Project covers historical showings as reported in the SMDI (#0395). This Report indicates one showing consists of sparse graphite flakes 0.13 inches (0.3 cm) or more in diameter and further, that there were crystalline graphite zones in which graphite made up to 75% of the rock in what appeared to be bleached biotite gneiss.

The area has had significant development with respect to graphite. The Deep Bay West Mine located, 60 km to the northeast of the property, is currently being advanced towards production with a historic non-NI 43-101 compliant open pit reserve estimate of “1.8 million tons grading 10.32% C to a depth of 60 metres” (200 ft) (SDMI #0480). Recent testing of graphite from Deep Bay West achieved >95% carbon content for all flake sizes +32+50+80+100 and -100. Further treatment was able to achieve >99% purity (Noble Bay Mining Development Inc.)

Management plans to aggressively explore the potential of the Brabant Project moving forward.

Canadian Platinum Corp. Announces Results on Extensive Graphitic Horizons at Its Peter Lake Project in Northern Saskatchewan

Posted by AGORACOM-JC at 9:51 AM on Wednesday, June 27th, 2012

CALGARY, ALBERTA–(June 25, 2012) –

NOT FOR DISTRIBUTION TO UNITED STATES NEWSWIRE SERVICES OR FOR DISSEMINATION IN THE UNITED STATES

Canadian Platinum Corp. (“Canadian Platinum” or the “Company”) (TSX VENTURE:CPC) is pleased to report assay results of the graphite content on the recently identified thick sequence of graphitic argillite on its Peter Lake Project (the “Project”). Although the focus on the Project continues to be on the copper/nickel/PGE potential of the Swan Lake mafic/ultramafic Complex and the Swan Lake deposit (see CPC News Release, May 30th, 2012), the graphitic argillite offers additional potential for the large land position held by the Company. The Company’s mining claims in the area cover approximately 500,000 acres.

In 2009, CPC carried out an Airborne ZTEM Survey over two blocks of the Peter Lake Property. Within one of these blocks, the survey identified two strong regional conductors that extend for 25 km within the Campbell River Group. A drill hole testing the ZTEM anomaly, drill hole TP-05-09, intersected 142 m of graphitic argillite and was terminated in graphitic argillite. Analysis of the graphite content of this hole gives the following results:

From m To m Core Length m C wt% Inorganic C wt% Organic C wt% Graphite wt%
7.4 26 18.6 3.2 0.2 2.2 0.7
27.5 45 17.5 7.4 1.3 4.4 1.7
47.9 57.2 9.3 5.9 1.2 3.3 1.3
60.1 72.4 12.3 5.4 1.4 3.0 1.0
89.3 110.9 21.6 3.2 0.3 2.7 0.2
117 149.4 32.4 3.8 0.2 3.2 0.4

Examination of historical drill holes within the area of the conductors showed them to be caused by graphitic argillite. One of the historical holes intersected 300 m of graphitic argillite. The Company sampled the graphitic argillite intervals from these two drill holes. Because of the nature of the drill holes, from each 10 foot interval, a one foot representative sample was taken. The results of this analysis are summarized as follows:

Hole Number Number of Samples From m To m C wt% Inorganic C wt% Organic C wt% Graphite wt%
1-72 93 3.66 295.66 3.2 0.2 2.5 0.6
4-72 21 14.02 77.42 3.8 0.4 2.2 1.2
including 9 14.02 39.62 7.1 0.7 4.2 2.2

Future efforts toward this recent discovery include a liberation test to examine how the graphitic carbon separates from the whole rock and organic carbon. In addition, the Company plans to run an ICP test on all samples to further delineate the full metal content of the graphitic argillite mineralization. Also planned is an x-ray diffraction test which will provide a better understanding of the entire elemental makeup.

Discussing the significance of this discovery, Mr. Todd Montgomery, President and CEO of the Company was quoted as saying:

“We are pleased with the recent progress in identifying a potentially viable graphite resource. These results indicate that the argillite interval has the potential to host ore grade graphite intervals and, because of the now confirmed 25 km strike length of this unit, has the potential to host a significant graphite deposit. With this in mind, we are optimistic about our timing. Market conditions are favorable with a tight supply and robust demand. China continues to drive prices up as the largest supplier of graphite. They produce nearly 70% of the world’s supply and presently maintain tight controls on supply with a 20% export duty, 17% value added tax and a complex export licensing system. Additionally, our research indicates that forecast demand growth rates for the graphite market will be within the range of 25% to 30% annually. This robust demand is due in large part to the diverse set of industrial demand drivers which include use in refractories, steel, brake lining, and lubricants as well as in emerging markets like lithium-ion batteries, fuel cells, solar panels, pebble bed nuclear reactors and vanadium redox batteries. We will continue to work hard to realize any potential value this discovery has to offer for the Company”.
