Robix Signs LOI With Petrolmeca S.A. de C.V. to Jointly Market the COV in Mexico

Posted by AGORACOM-JC at 7:33 AM on Monday, May 4th, 2015

LETHBRIDGE, ALBERTA–(May 4, 2015) – Robix Alternative Fuels, Inc. (“Robix” or the “Company”) (CSE:RZX)(FRANKFURT:R0X) is pleased to announce that it’s Mexican subsidiary, Corris Technologies Mexico S.A. de C.V. (Corris), has entered into a non-binding Letter of Intent (LOI) with Petrolmeca S.A. de C.V. (Petrolmeca). Petrolmeca was created in 2004 and maintains a permanent staff of 33 specialists in multiple engineering disciplines. Since inception, they have developed several projects for PEMEX both onshore and offshore. To date Petrolmeca has executed projects valued at more than $118 million USD, mainly in the development of basic and detailed engineering plans for the expansion of infrastructure, modernization and rehabilitation of offshore platforms as well as land and marine terminals of Dos Bocas, Tabasco. For more information on Petrolmeca please see “About Petrolmeca” below.

The purpose of the LOI is to reflect the desire of the parties to agree upon the terms of a commercial transaction, whereby Robix’s Clean Ocean Vessel (COV) technology will be introduced to Mexico and utilized for oil spill recovery and remediation, with the initial area of focus being the state of Tabasco.

Tabasco is a significant oil producing region of Mexico and as such hosts a large system of petroleum bearing pipelines throughout the region. In April, the state of Tabasco launched an emergency plan to supply drinking water to its capital city of Villahermosa after rivers that normally supply the city became contaminated by oil leaking from punctured pipelines. Oil spill contamination of rivers resulting from punctured pipelines has become a recurring problem in this region. Robix believes that the 10 foot COV is an ideal unit to service such rivers, as it is small and nimble and can easily maneuver river systems to contain and recover spilled petroleum. To date, Robix has focused on deploying the COV to clean up oils spills that occur in oceans or petroleum products in tailings ponds. River systems represent a new market application for the COV technology.

Highly Cost Effective, Clean Ocean Vessel

  • The COV’s rapid recovery rate and large on-board storage result in low per barrel recovery cost.
  • The COV’s simple design minimizes down time for repair and maintenance.
  • A two-man crew can be easily trained and the COV vessel can operate long hours without interruption
  • Goal to be selling COV products in the first half of 2015

Design Versatility

  • COV’S can be scaled to meet various application requirements (sizes range from 10 Ft., 20 Ft., 40 Ft., 80 Ft., 100 Ft. (references to length of vessel
  • A standard 40-foot COV is 40 feet in length, 26 feet in width, and 12 feet in depth
  • Recently completed the engineering drawings for the Clean Ocean Vessel (COV) and ordered critical components to initiate construction on the COV

Recent Highlights

  • Signed an exclusive manufacturing agreement with Rayco Steel Ltd, to manufacture the Clean Ocean Vessel
  • Based on market analysis Robix has decided to commence construction of a 10ft COV
  • Creating a new business division, through a subsidiary entity, to enter into the marine industry.
  • Announced that Rick Carson, of Montreal, PQ, has agreed to join Robix as a Strategic Advisor.

How the COV compares to the competition:

  • Rates of oil recovered and recovery-throughput efficiencies are noted as “oil rate of recovery” (ORR) and “recovery efficiency” (RE).
  • The water surface lifting force generated by the COV’s patented contra-rotating drums acts in a suction or pumping manner that increases the ORR compared to conventional skimmer systems and the RE of the COV is in the 90-97% range. This is competitive with best in class 21st century technology in terms of ORR and RE.
  • Further improvements to the ORR (in terms of gallons per minute) could easily catapult the COV to “top three” status, by increasing the surface area of the drums through design modifications without impairing the stability of the vessel which is inherent to the COV design.
  • When our competitors’ skimmer systems meet waves above 18 inches, they are forced to suspend service. The COV operates in rough sea conditions (as high as 8 feet waves), significantly out-performing its competitors, and stands in a class of its own.

Robix Signs Exclusive Deal With Rayco to Manufacture COV

Posted by AGORACOM-JC at 12:35 PM on Monday, December 8th, 2014

Deal Contemplates Marine and Oil Sand Tailings Applications

LETHBRIDGE, ALBERTA–(Dec. 8, 2014) – Robix Alternative Fuels Inc. (“Robix” or the “Corporation”) (CSE:RZX)(FRANKFURT:R0X) announced today that it has signed an exclusive manufacturing agreement with Rayco Steel Ltd, of Sparwood, British Columbia, to manufacture the Clean Ocean Vessel (COV). The manufacturing agreement covers the current design of the COV which is targeted toward oil spill containment and recovery in marine applications. In addition, Rayco also has exclusive rights to manufacture subsequent COV designs including non-marine applications such as waste water streams from the oil sands and oil production environments generally. Finally, Rayco will provide Quality Assurance Quality Control to Robix on all COV manufacturing even in instances where the COV is manufactured off-site. The agreement is in effect until terminated by Rayco giving Robix not less than 60 days prior written notice. Pricing will be determined between parties at the time of the order.

“Rayco’s work to date on our first commercial COV has been excellent and that quality workmanship has given me confidence in selecting them as our exclusive COV manufacturer,” commented Nathan Hansen, President and CEO of Robix. “They have project managed the construction, worked to a tight budget and been instrumental in working with marine engineers and architect group as well as Transport Canada to facilitate design improvements to the COV which will make this iteration, a product that meets 21st century specifications.” Mr. Hansen continued, “Our business model has always been to be the owner and marketer of leading edge technology in this space. By contracting the COV construction to Rayco, we are not incurring extensive capex costs from purchasing manufacturing facilities. As a result we are managing our share structure which is small compared to our peers at a similar stage of development. Our goal is to be selling COV products in the first half of 2015.”

In addition, Robix has been examining the use of the COV design in non-marine applications including tailings ponds in the Alberta Oil Sands projects. A tailings pond is an engineered dam and dyke system that is used as a settling basin/storage container for the mixture of water, sand, clay and residual oil that is left over after oil sands processing. Management believes the COV could be used in these environments to contain and recover oil from the tailings ponds.

Mr. Hansen continued, “In tandem to building the first commercial COV, we’ve been working with Rayco on testing the principles of the COV design on non-marine applications. These include waste water streams from oil production and represents a new potentially lucrative revenue stream for Robix. The COV is a very versatile design which can be applied to a number of applications. I look forward to exploring this avenue further, but our first priority is to get the COV into the water to test its performance in open seas and prove sea worthiness. We are slightly behind schedule and due to the December holiday season will likely be ready to launch the COV in January.”

CLIENT FEATURE: Stria Lithium (SRA: TSX-V) Powering The Green Revolution

Posted by AGORACOM-JC at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, September 3rd, 2014

Why Stria Lithium?

  • Aiming to become one of the lowest cost producers in the world for battery- grade technology lithium — critical for high-technology green energy industries.
  • Management is key. Stria has assembled a truly world-class, experienced and accomplished team.
  • Stria’s strategic, cost-effective exploration substantially reduces the risks and expenditures of exploration by focusing on deposits that are readily available to advance.
  • Stria’s unique and extensive experience in understanding and utilizing the latest, most-advanced geophysical tools affords the Company a competitive edge within the industry.
  • The lithium market remains robust with tremendous upside potential versus other metals.

A New Source, a new process for technology lithium

Several foreign nations are already stockpiling materials critical to the emerging green technology economy, which means a reliable North American supply of high quality lithium-based products has never been more urgent. Stria believes Canada has a key role to play in the green tech economy, and plan to be a part of it by carving out a supply and technology niche in the critical and strategic metals world.

Proprietary Processing Technologies

Stria President and Chief Operating Officer Julien Davy said the company’s ultimate goal is to produce high-purity (99.999%) lithium metal or other lithium compounds that meet the needs of battery manufacturers for an environmentally sustainable supply option that dramatically reduces costs. “Any lithium process that significantly reduces production costs will help changing the battery market,” said Mr. Davy.

Pontax-Lithium property …

Stria holds 100 per cent ownership of the Pontax-Lithium property located in the west-central James Bay territory in northern Quebec.

The property, which Stria acquired from Khalkos Exploration Inc. in 2013, is host to a recently discovered swarm of a dozen spodumene-bearing (a lithium mineral) pegmatite dikes, each one metre to 10 metres in thickness, plus a series of small centimetre-thick dikelets.

The lithium-bearing dikes outcrop over an area of 450 metres by 100 metres (for more information, click here to view the NI-43-101 Technical Report (Girard,2013) on the Pontax-Lithium Property).

Close-up view of Pontax’s spodumene-bearing pegmatite. The light grey spodumene is idiomorphic and lath-shaped. The intergranular grey mineral is quartz.

Willcox Lithium / Arizona

Stria holds 100 per cent ownership of the Willcox Lithium project, located in Cochise County, Arizona. Acquired through the purchase of Pueblo Lithium LLC from AGR-O Phosphate Inc. in 2014, the property is comprised of 61 lode mining claims.

The purpose of the 2014 Willcox drilling program is to confirm historic exploration results and to test groundwater samples for use in Stria’s proprietary membrane processing technologies now under development. This technology will allow Stria to recover lithium from brine type deposits without the need of large scale evaporation ponds and their associated environmental impacts.

Robix Launches Corris Marine Division in Montreal and Grant of Options

Posted by AGORACOM-JC at 2:42 PM on Tuesday, May 20th, 2014

LETHBRIDGE, ALBERTA–(May 20, 2014) – Robix Alternative Fuels Inc. (“Robix” or the “Corporation”) (CSE:RZK)(FRANKFURT:R0X) announced today that it has officially launched its Corris Marine Division with the opening of its Montreal office, in the Old Port of Montreal district.

The Robix Corris Marine Division intends to own and operate shipping tankers that will transport refined oil products along established global shipping routes. In addition to producing shipping revenue, it is intended that each tanker will host a Robix Clean Ocean Vessel (“COV”), which is an oil spill recovery vessel design with the capability to recover oil in rough and debris laden sea conditions, as described below. Once installed on a tanker, the COV will be readily deployable to react to oil spills in the heavily travelled established shipping routes regionally and globally.

Robix, including its Corris Marine Division, has completed comprehensive revenue models and the financial analysis supports the creation of an initial fleet of tankers. Robix is currently in discussions with several tanker owners and the Corporation is evaluating non-dilutive financial structures to acquire these tankers.

The current plan of management of Robix contemplates the installation of a COV when commercially feasible on each tanker. The COV is an ocean vessel, catamaran-hull barge design, capable of recovering oil from water, in virtually any conditions, especially in rough seas (40 Foot COV is stable up to Beaufort 6, or 8 feet ocean waves). Contra-rotating drums lift oil/water fluid from the surface of the ocean and scavenger blades “scrape” the oil/water fluid off the drums into storage tanks within the catamaran hulls.

“Oil spills very often occur near oil pipeline port facilities where oil is off-loaded to tankers and in well-travelled oil shipping lanes, making revenue generating tankers a natural host for the COV system,” commented Nathan Hansen, President and CEO of Robix. “Our strategy is to generate revenue from the shipping of oil while being ready and able to service a global region in the event of an oil spill with a readily deployable COV system on standby. Robix has identified revenue potential from multiple sources, including shipping oil, COV standby fees as well as emergency recovery and response revenue from deployment of the COV solution.”

In addition to the launch of the Corris Marine Division, Robix wishes to announce the grant, subject to regulatory approval, of 444,000 stock options to directors and consultants at an exercise price of $0.50 per share and expire on May 21, 2017, under the Corporation’s stock option plan.

Finally, Robix will be hosting its Annual General & Special Meeting at Radisson Hotel & Conference Center, 6620-36th Street NE, Calgary, Alberta, Canada (Northeast Calgary) on May 30th, 2014. Shareholders and interested persons are invited and encouraged to attend the meeting, which will include an update from management.
