I though we were going to see  sell off into the end of the week as per my risk off post, but it looks like the equity markets are going to push higher and the $TSXV is going to challenge that 1,673 high – caveat: beware of a double top here and that November high. That being said, I remain relatively hesitant to take new speculative long positions but will re-enter into names I know, those that I believe offer a good value proposition. The overall volume on the $TSXV is in decline but we did start this rally on less. Again, ultimately I think 2012 will be a great year, but I would like to see a correction from the  post Xmas rally we have been seeing.

Here is the weekly view…. We need more volume flowing into this market to keep marching forward but this looks very promising for the rest of the year.

Don’t make fun of the image … OK, make a little fun … but you get the point.
1. Don’t bother with any Alexa data prior to 2011, as ZH was gaining steam.  The traffic trends I’ve noticed really come into play over the last 10 months or so … but Alexa doesn’t let you pull charts for specific time periods.
2.  I’ve always considered ZH to be a great fear gauge of the masses.
3. Â When the masses panic and S&P is dropping, they run to ZeroHedge and ZHÂ Alexa Rank Rises (see S&P 1,100)
4. Â When the world is calm and S&P is rising, they go elsewhere (more traditional financial media) and ZH Alexa Rank Drops (see S&P 1,340)
The masses are feeling really good right now.

Paul Kedrosky is one of the smartest and most level headed financial-tech commentators I know. Â So when Bloomberg posted this video, I watched. Â Lots of great information, though it seemed like the interviewer couldn’t keep up with Kedrosky’s brain in the last couple of minutes and failed to really get Paul to dive into a detailed discussion about growth opportunities.
Have a look at this 12 minute video. Â Well worth the time, especially if you are considering buying the stock when it IPOs.
