ChinaSecurities.com Small-Cap Company Feature: China YCT International Group

Posted by AGORACOM at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

As many of you know, we are very bullish on the long-term future of Chinese small cap and mid cap companies for two reasons:

1] The obvious reason – China is the fastest growing economy on the planet and nothing is going to slow down its ascent over the next 50 years and beyond. Investing in growth companies there just makes too much sense.

2] Great Results and Valuations – Many Small Cap Chinese Companies are listing in the US (OTCBB, NYSE Alternext and NASDAQ) with great financial results. Unlike many dubious US Small Cap Companies, Chinese Companies don’t seem to believe in losing money or failing to execute in a business plan. As such, 7-digit revenues and profits are very common.

From a valuation point of view, many Chinese companies became a victim of their own success in Q4 2008 and Q1 2009. Why? When the world needed to start liquidating, one of the first places they looked were China where most investors had significant gains to sell into. This resulted in the proverbial baby being thrown out with the bathwater and some great valuations.

TODAY’S FEATURED COMPANY

MY COMMENTS:

As always, this is my view in a snapshot. It is intended to give you a running start into your research. Now, you have to do your own due diligence to make sure the valuation is not impaired by other factors including balance sheet items, lawsuits or any other negative events.

If you have any comments, I’d love to see them below.

YOUR RESEARCH STARTING POINTS FOR CHINESE SMALL CAP AND MID CAP COMPANIES

We’ve provided investors with two great starting points to research great Chinese small cap and mid cap companies.

1. ChinaSecurities.com – ChinaSecurities.com tracks 250 of the best small cap and mid cap companies trading on North American exchanges. It provides you with the best of the best in two ways. First, the front page lists the best news of the day coming out of the space. It does so by giving you a text view of the best press releases by industry and via Chinese Stocks TV, a 5-minute broadcast every morning just after the open. Chinse Stocks TV is archived, so you can catch up on shows you missed.

Second, if you want to research each of the 250 companies to find candidates for your portfolio, it has a very intuitive directory that lets you quickly review each company on the master list, or parse it out by industry and exchange if you have a particular sector of interest. Cool stuff.

2. Right here on AGORACOM, you can refer to our China category for other featured Chinese Small-Cap Companies. As always, we will disclose any IR relationship with any public company. Given the sheer number of great Chinese Small-Cap Companies out there, you can expect us NOT to have an IR relationship with most of these companies.

LOI to Acquire Additional Blue Gem High Grade Coal Leases in Kentucky

Posted by AGORACOM at 1:31 PM on Monday, June 29th, 2009

North American Gem Inc. (TSX-V: NAG) announced a Letter of Intent (“LOI”) to acquire additional coal leases located in Knox County, Kentucky. The leases, referred to as the “ABGSC Leases” (approximately 410 acres), are currently being permitted for mining under permit #861-0502.

The ABGSC Leases currently has a surface mining permit application in process with the Department of Natural Resources (the “DNR”) offices in Frankfort, Kentucky and it is expected to be approved within 60-90 days. The ABGSC Leases are contiguous with the recently announced Swan Pond and Possum Hollow Leases and host a continuation of the Blue Gem and Jellico seams. Analysis of the Blue Gem seam from the Swan Pond and Possum Hollow Leases are very encouraging showing 3% ash, 0.65% sulfur and a range of 14,200 – 15,200 btu. The Jellico seam averages 6.5% ash, 1% sulfur and a range of 12,500 – 13,200 btu (Previously announced in the May 13, 2009 release).

Blue Gem Coal is a high carbon, low ash, low fusion and low grind (very hard) coal that is found only in a small area along the border of Tennessee and Kentucky in the Cumberland Mountains. The coal seam, throughout the region, runs in thickness from 48-71 cm.

The Blue Gem Coal seam is one of three coal seams in the world that are best suited for production of silicon metals. The other two are found in West Virginia and Columbia, South America. Of the three, the Blue Gem Coal seam is the most sought after. For this reason, coal produced from this seam is not only consumed in the U.S., but also exported extensively to Canada, Norway, Iceland, India, France, South Africa and Egypt.

With the ever increasing demand for silicon metals and silicon products, mineable Blue Gem coal resources are becoming increasingly more valuable. Historically, Blue Gem coal can bring an FOB (Freight On Board) mine price that is as much as 100% higher than high quality steam coal and is typically the highest priced of any grade of coal produced in the U.S.

ChinaSecurities.com – China’s Massive Healthcare Initiative Provides Vast Opportunities for Investors

Posted by AGORACOM at 1:30 PM on Monday, June 29th, 2009

[Via ChinaSecurities.com and My Colleague, Matty Hayden of HC International – whose China ideas often gets quoted in places like The Motley Fool]

Like the U.S., China’s healthcare costs have soared in recent years. Outpatient costs were 12 times higher in 2007 than in 1990 though incomes increased by only 5-7 times during the same period. Spending on healthcare amounted to about $185 billion or 5.67% of China’s GDP in 2007, yet healthcare investments have clearly not kept pace with China’s miraculous economic growth.

To address the imbalances, including wide problems in healthcare availability and quality between urban and rural areas, the Chinese government has initiated a $124 billion spending stimulus for 2009-2011. Some $52.2 billion will be allocated from the central government budget and is targeted principally at rural investments. This direct investment – rather than a more customary cost share with provincial governments – underscores the importance Beijing places on improving living standards and ensuring social stability in the countryside. The balance of $74.6 billion is aimed primarily at reducing urban hospital crowding and improving primary care, and will be provided by provincial and municipal sources.

The stimulus plan seeks to address five policy objectives:

1. Establish universal healthcare insurance. Target is to provide health insurance to 90 percent of the population by 2011, and to close the gap completely by 2020.

2. Build a basic medicine system. A new national Essential Drug List will be developed with widespread distribution, uniform prices and high reimbursement coverage.

3. Provide new medical institutions. Government investment will be directed toward the development of community health centers and local hospitals to ease the overcrowding in leading urban hospitals.

4. Bring equality in urban and rural areas. A clear focus on improving China’s underfunded public health system in rural areas, including epidemic management and disease prevention.

5. Reform Public hospitals. With public hospitals currently the dominant channel for healthcare services, pilot reforms will include changes to hospital administration and operation. After years of consideration, reforms also will include the separation of pharmacies from hospitals, and thus solve the over-prescription of drugs by money-losing hospital entities

Importantly, China’s healthcare consumers will be the chief beneficiaries of the reform program, but it is also clear that the reforms will pose opportunities for a wide range of healthcare products and service providers. Several industries and companies are poised to benefit directly from key reform measures.

The bulk of the reform program focuses on improving rural medical access and building out the public health infrastructure, so those firms that provide the infrastructure products and services for this expansion are in line to receive immediate and direct benefit from the reform program. These entities include:

ü      Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) producers

ü      Pharmaceutical distributors

ü      Basic medical equipment and device companies

ü      Generic chemical medicine manufacturers

ü      Vaccine manufacturers

ü      Diagnostic regent makers

Companies that will benefit from China’s massive investment in healthcare:

AGORACOM Site Upgrades – June 23rd 2009

Posted by AGORACOM at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 29th, 2009

Good morning to you all.  As you know, we made some significant changes to the site a few days ago.  These changes were implemented for three reasons:

  1. To give you faster access to the great content found on our blog, daily TV show and other content. Many of you limited your experience to specific company HUBS, so it was incumbent on us to give you one click access from those HUBS
  2. To help you make your user experience even better by providing you with a list of usability tips.
  3. To provide you with additional ways of consuming our content.  For example, following us on Twitter, watching our videos on YouTube, etc.

To this end, please find enclosed answers to the all important question …

What Changes Were Made To The Site?

  • All updates being pulled into Recent Updates Section on Hub’s Home Page

The Recent Updates Box is the box that allows members to quickly view important changes to the HUB.  In the past, we only listed big items such as press releases.  However, given the fact so many members contribute so much more great content (photos, link library, changes to management, etc.) we’ve now upgraded the box to incorporate ANY update made to a HUB.

What you don’t know is this is going to be a very important part of our mobile and Web 2.0 strategy over the next 2-3 months.  Specifically, the more active a group of investors within a HUB, the more information about their company that will be going out to the iPhone, Twitter and other channels that we are building.  More details will be released throughout the summer.

Conclusion – you now have even more ways to get the word out about your HUBS (client and free) and greater incentive to get active on AGORACOM.

recent-updates

  • New Algorithm for Vice President, President and Hub Leaders

With our New Upgrade. it is now a requirement that a member holds a minimum rating of 3.0 to attain the rank of Vice President, a minimum rating of 3.3 in order to attain the rank of President, and rating of at least 3.7 to attain the status of Hub Leader within AGORACOM.

We had to implement these changes to make sure the highest ranking members achieved their status from more than just activity points. The rating of fellow members is the ultimate differentiator.

The rank changes are mathematical and objective, and have been applied to AGORACOM retroactively, meaning some of you may have lost a rank. We look forward to hearing from you if you have any questions about your rank.

To this end, you can read the specifics about our rating and ranking system by visiting http://agoracom.com/help-center/ratings-and-ranks.

The Our sites page allows frequent visitors to our site as well as new ones to discover new ways to interact with the AGORACOM Community through other popular Web 2.0 media. Want to keep up with us on Facebook? Download our daily show into your iPod? Watch our videos on YouTube?

Moreover, this should help current AGORACOM members  who may have gotten used to using just a few features of the site and will be happy to discover additional great tools to make their user experience even better.

Reverse Merger 2009 Presentation – Now Live!

Posted by AGORACOM at 10:44 AM on Friday, June 26th, 2009

rmc09_logo_500x49

AGORACOM was once again a proud sponsor of the Reverse Merger Conference held this year at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, June 11 & 12. I presented the Web / Online Investor Relations Speaker Workshop called, ““Using Web 2.0 To Conduct Investor Relations and Gather Intelligence through Blogs, Twitter, iGoogle and RSS Feeds…But What Are They?”

The workshop was the initial step in teaching bankers, fund managers and public companies about the advantages of  incorporating social media into their intelligence gathering to cut through clutter, get the information they need and connect with the smartest people on the planet.

Despite the fact it was the last presentation before lunch, the room was pretty full and – more importantly – alive with audience participation.  In order to avoid the “he’s the internet guy and I could never do what he does” syndrome,  I brought industry stalwart and early Web 2.0 adopter David Feldman of the Reverse Merger & SPAC Blog.  David discussed his overwhelmingly positive blogging experience, which opened up the floor to some great questions from the audience.

I am happy to announce the presentation (audio and power point slides) has now been webcast for everyone to listen to and benefit from.  If you couldn’t make it to Las Vegas, or were at the Conference but need a refresher, here it is.  For your convenience, I have broken it down into 2 parts:

  • My presentation
  • The Q&A with David Feldman

You can watch the presentations below and then ask any questions by posting them to the comments section.  I hope you find the presentation and Q&A as valuable as the audience members at the Reverse Mergers Conference.

As promised, I will follow this up with 5-minute presentations on how to use Twitter, iGoogle and Blogging.  Look for them to begin in a few days.

PART 1 – MY PRESENTATION

PART 2 – THE Q&A WITH DAVID FELDMAN

PREVIOUS KEYNOTE PRESENTATIONS

If you enjoyed these presentations and want to watch other keynote presentations I have made at DealFlow Media Conferences in the past 3 years, please have a look at the following:

AGORACOM Client Intelligence Report – June 2009

Posted by AGORACOM at 2:33 PM on Thursday, June 25th, 2009

We’re pleased to provide you with the June 2009 edition of the AGORACOM Client Intelligence Report.  For those of you who didn’t receive our last report or are new clients of AGORACOM, you can now find an archive of these reports on our blog here.  For confidentiality reasons, all “Off The Blog” items mentioned in these reports are not mentioned in the archived reports.

WHY AN “INTELLIGENCE REPORT”

For the benefit of our new clients, we call this an “Intelligence Report” because it provides you with important information, data and trends that impact your business – information that you normally don’t have time to find.  We often write about these in The AGORACOM Blog, so we call these “On The Blog” Stories.

In addition, this newsletter gives you a chance to look into our crystal ball and know what AGORACOM is working on months before the general public.  You can’t find these tidbits on our blog, so we call them “Off The Blog” and ask that you keep them confidential.  As you know, we move faster than any IR firm on the planet, so knowing what we’re doing in advance helps both of us coordinate our activities.  This is especially true for what we expect to be an extremely fast moving and exciting year.

In short, greater market intelligence that puts you ahead of all of your peers.

I can’t stress enough my recommendation that you review our monthly newsletter carefully for the purposes of incorporating some of our market intelligence into both your IR and business initiatives.

AGORACOM is now the largest small-cap IR firm and site on the continent thanks to our effective use of web technology.  As such, following us will help you achieve your goals.

OFF THE BLOG … Shhhhh

**For confidentiality reasons, the “Off The Blog” items are not mentioned in the blog posts as they are only available to AGORACOM clients**

ChinaSecurities.com Small-Cap Company Feature: China Architectural Engineering

Posted by AGORACOM at 10:00 AM on Thursday, June 25th, 2009

George
