Over 3,850 Investors From 54 Countries Visit AGORACOM Online Gold & Commodities Conference, Which Begins December 3rd, 2009

Posted by AGORACOM at 6:18 PM on Friday, November 27th, 2009

With 1 week remaining before the start of The AGORACOM Online Gold & Commodities Conference, investor interest in the conference continues to ramp up.

TRAFFIC HIGHLIGHTS

  • Analytics (tracked by Google) are for the period November 5 – 26
  • 3,853 investors visited the conference site
  • They spent an average of 4:53 on the conference site
  • These stats do not include investor engagement once they clicked through to company HUB.
  • They came from 54 different countries
  • Top 10 countries in order of top to bottom …. Canada, United States, India, Australia, Germany, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Ireland (replaces Colombia from last week), Switzerland, Malta (replaces Argentina from last week)
  • Visitors from the top 10 countries represent the continents of North America, Asia, Europe, Australia and South America

MARKETING PHASE SET TO BEGIN

The encouraging part about our progress to date is the fact that we are launching the intense segment of our marketing on Monday.  This will include 8 TV ads per day on BNN, 25 -30 press releases issued by participating companies, announcements by our keynote and workshop speakers, our own press release, blog posts and tweets.  Here is one YouTube version of the television ad we’ll be running on BNN from Monday – Thursday.  The other version, which lists our speakers in a different order (Grandich and Coffin first) will be up on Monday.

Feel free to grab the embed code and post it to your site, or simply forward the link to fellow investors.

A BRAND NEW AUDIENCE OF INVESTORS

I am especially pleased with the depth of international visits, which I cited as a primary reason for taking conferences online. For the first time ever, investors from anywhere in the world will be able to fully participate in a conference that is not reserved for investors that live close to a “conference city” or can afford to travel to one (New York, San Fran, London, Frankfurt, Toronto, Vancouver, New Orleans, Las Vegas).

Specifically, for the first time ever, international investors can now watch company presentations and listen to valuable insights from keynote speakers at the same time as everybody else. International investors will no longer feel alienated and out of the loop. By opening our doors to them and welcoming them on an equal footing, we open up the lines of communication that will flow for as long as we have the web.

As I say this, I also don’t want to forget the massive audience of North American investors that simply don’t have the time to fly to conferences due to work and family obligations. Think about it, how many people have the luxury of taking 3 days off to fly to different conferences?

Ultimately, this level of engagement with a brand new audience – both local and international – will lead to tremendous benefits for the entire industry. The important thing to remember is that we will need to continue these efforts from here on out. Companies that embrace the concept of a borderless online investor community will be the biggest winners in the next decade.

AGORACOM Generates 7.9 Million Pages From 131,500 Visitors Over Last 30 Days

Posted by AGORACOM at 7:30 AM on Thursday, November 12th, 2009

After a slower start to the year for obvious reasons, I’m happy to announce that AGORACOM is stronger than ever with some monster traffic numbers over the last 30 days (October 10 – November 10, 2009).  I can talk about it – but it would be much easier to show you our Google Analytics (sorry for the blurriness but my image capture software isn’t up to snuff lately).  In any event, what is clear are the following statistics:

  • 131,549 investors visited AGORACOM
  • They visited just over 775,000 times
  • They read 7.9 million pages

AGORACOM - Traffic 1009

What is especially noteworthy is the fact that this audience is 100% dedicated to small and mid-cap companies.  We don’t talk about general market news and mega cap stocks.  100% small and mid cap, so this represents one sizable set of “niche” investors.  Consequently, this bodes well for our upcoming Online Gold & Commodities Conference which is dedicated to emerging resource companies.  Moreover, it opens the door to conferences for other industries such as tech and China in 2010.

Thanks to everyone for their continued support and participation on AGORACOM.

George

AGORACOM Hits 1.31 Million Unique Visitors For Full Year 2008

Posted by AGORACOM at 10:10 AM on Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009

Back on October 10th, we announced AGORACOM traffic results for the first full-year since the launch of our small-cap, wiki-powered “Investor Controlled Discussion Forums” on October 5, 2007.

Today, I am very pleased to announce our traffic results for the full year 2008.  If a picture is worth a thousand words, this snapshot from our Google analytics is worth several million

[PLEASE CLICK ON IMAGE FOR LARGE, CLEAR GRAPH]

AGORACOM Traffic FY 2008

Suffice it to say, we are once again ecstatic with the results.  This is especially true given the state of the markets in Q4 2008.  We attribute much of this success to practicing what we preach. Specifically, when times are tough and your competitors are running for cover, crank up the marketing.  AGORACOM did just that with the launch of TV ads on Bloomberg, CNBC and BNN , as well as, the addition of Peter Grandich.

ELECTRONIC SHAREHOLDER FORUMS WILL REPLACE TRADITIONAL IR DEPARTMENTS AND IRO’S

To this end, we will continue to re-invest back into the success of our community, clients and members.  Look for significant news from AGORACOM on the mobile and international fronts shortly.  We’re building for the long-term here folks.  There is no stopping the web/mobile trend as the sole source of investor relations, investor collaboration and market information.  Investors are demanding it, loving it and we are going to continue delivering.  Electronic shareholder forums are going to replace traditional investor relations departments and IRO’s.  We’ve got a foothold and we’re not letting go.

CLIENTS AND MEMBERS THAT BELIEVED

I want to thank all of our great clients and members that believed in our model and breathed unbelievable life into this paradigm shifting platform. Without them, this would be one hell of an application with no users. A special thanks goes out to all HUB Leaders that abandoned their former communities at Stockhouse, Raging Bull, Yahoo Finance and others in hopes of a better experience. I’m glad our promises to you have been fulfilled.  Thank-You!

REPUTATION AND RANKING SYSTEM

When we created our community by combining UGC, Wiki and reputation based tools, we set out to destroy the stock discussion forum status quo that we have all come to hate over the past 10 years thanks to unrelenting spam, profanity, stock bashing, stock hyping and the unacceptable. Many thought it could not be done because we could neither change habits nor unseat the incumbents. We not only knew we could, we knew investors wanted us to.  All they needed was a solution that focused on quality over quantity.

Now, more than lip service, the following numbers speak for themselves:

THE TALE OF THE TAPE

(Figures for January 1, 2008 – December 31, 2008. All figures reported by Google Analytics)

  • Unique Visitors 1,311,797
  • Visits 7,936,725 (so close to 8 million…)
  • Page Views 95,958,206
  • Pages Per Visit 12.09
  • Avg Time On Site 9:19
  • Number Of Countries/Territories 207
  • Top 10 (Canada, USA, Germany, Netherlands, UK, Belgium, Australia, Sweden, Mexico, Switzerland)

The numbers look even better when you consider

  • We built our model on quality vs quantity. As such, this is pure discussion. No spam, flaming and bickering traffic.
  • We are only focusing on small-cap and micro-cap stocks …for now.

THE STATUS QUO IS CRUMBLING

AGORACOM Small Cap Community Sets Monthly Visitor Records – 149,400 Investors Visited 741,500 Times In October

Posted by AGORACOM at 1:24 AM on Tuesday, November 11th, 2008

Good evening to you all.  Despite significant weakness in the markets during October, I am very pleased to announce that AGORACOM set a monthly record for unique visitors (149,385) and total visits (741,562).  All of our traffic stats are tracked and reported by Google Analytics.

We attribute our October success to a couple of important factors.  First, in keeping with our advice to pubco clients that marketing during turbulent times is actually quite effective, AGORACOM launched 30-second TV ads on BNN, Bloomberg and CNBC in mid-September.  Using Google Trends, we saw an immediate impact with US searches for “Agoracom” sky-rocketing by mid-October.  FYI, the anecdotal feedback has been tremendous from current and prospective clients who have seen the ads.

Secondly, comScore reported that traffic to financial websites has actually jumped as a result of market turmoil, serving as further proof that small-cap public companies need to maintain marketing during this period.

Thanks to our great members and our great clients for helping make AGORACOM a 2nd generation financial community in which smart investors and smart public companies can communicate in near real-time, without problems relating to profanity, spam, flaming, stock bashing and stock hyping.

Regards,
George

AGORACOM Hits 101 Million Pages, 1.25 Million Visitors In First Year

Posted by AGORACOM at 10:04 AM on Friday, October 10th, 2008

I am very pleased to announce AGORACOM traffic results for the first full-year since the launch of our small-cap, wiki-powered “Investor Controlled Discussion Forums” on October 5, 2007.

If a picture is worth a thousand words, these 2 snapshots from our Google analytics is worth 101,000,000 words [CLICK ON IMAGE FOR LARGE, CLEAR GRAPH]

Suffice it to say, we are ecstatic with the results and we want to thank all of our great clients and members that believed in our model and breathed unbelievable life into this paradigm shifting platform. As demonstrated by our recent launch of TV ads on Bloomberg, CNBC and BNN , as well as, the addition of Peter Grandich, we will continue to re-invest back into the success of this community for the benefit of all. Thank-you!

When we made first made the announcement, we set out to destroy the stock discussion forum status quo that we have all come to hate over the past 10 years thanks to unrelenting spam, profanity, stock bashing, stock hyping and assorted noise. Many thought it could not be done because we could neither change habits nor unseat the incumbents. We not only knew we could, we knew that we would. Now, more than lip service, the following numbers speak for themselves:

THE TALE OF THE TAPE

(Figures for October 5, 2007 – October 5, 2008. All figures reported by Google Analytics)

  • Visits 7,639,273
  • Page Views 101,204,915
  • Pages Per Visit 13.25
  • Avg Time On Site 10:00
  • Number Of Countries/Territories 207
  • Top 10 (Canada, USA, Germany, Netherlands, UK, Belgium, Sweden, Switzerland, Austria, Mexico)

The numbers look even better when you consider

  • We built our model on quality vs quantity. As such, this is pure discussion. No spam, flaming and bickering traffic.
  • We are only focusing on small-cap and micro-cap stocks …for now.

THE STATUS QUO IS CRUMBLING

We are very happy to see the data back up our theory that investors deeply desire the ability to amalgamate and discuss individual stock investments in a civilized community. investors are no longer willing to accept the unacceptable.

Until now, the trash has ruled the day, forcing the masses to abandon discussion forums and conduct due diligence either on their own, or in small groups. It is inefficient but it is the best option we’ve had for nearly a decade.

Eventually, the market corrects inefficiencies and AGORACOM has set its sights on correcting this one.

By refusing to sacrifice quality for quantity, AGORACOM is attracting and will continue to attract smart and conscientious investors that understand the wisdom of crowds. Eventually, quality begets quality and a massive community that both generates its own content and moderates itself will replace the status quo.

HAPPY TO SEE A HAPPY COMMUNITY

Despite the plethora of great data illustrating our success, nothing makes us happier than reading the reaction of our members. Here are just some of the raving testimonials we’ve been able to pull from the site so far.

While we’re talking about our members, I want to take this moment to thank each and every one of them for believing in our model, spreading the word and breathing life into it. Without them, this would be one hell of an application with no users. A special thanks goes out to all HUB Leaders that abandoned their former communities at Stockhouse, Raging Bull, Yahoo Finance and others in hopes of a better experience. I’m glad our promises to you have been fulfilled.

BLOGS CAN NOT REPLACE DISCUSSION FORUMS

With the advent of financial blogs – and some pretty great ones that include Paul Kedrosky, Barry Ritholtz and Mark McQueen to name but a few – some might argue discussion forums are no longer necessary, even outdated. Don’t make that mistake. Blogs are great for insight into the most important economic issues from a wide array of great minds. However, they rarely stay focused on a particular topic for more than a day.

Stock discussion forums, on the other hand, provide investors with an ability to exchange ideas and analyze one particular stock 24/7/365. You might read about macro events (i.e. sub-prime or Apple earnings) on a blog but figuring out the ongoing impact on your specific stock investments requires an extended micro discussion that blogs can not provide.

CONCLUSION

This is Wiki meets IGC (investor generated content) at its finest. There are bigger communities to be sure – but can you find another vertical in which the need for a drastically more efficient model is needed more? Trillions of dollars are at stake. People’s futures are at stake. The implications of inefficient or imperfect information are severe.

Stock discussion forums are vital to the lives of so many people. I believe we are about to witness a paradigm shift that makes them valuable once again. Stay tuned for more.

AGORACOM Hits 60 Million Page Views In 6 Months

AGORACOM Hits New Daily Traffic Record – 547,000 Pages On March 18th

Posted by AGORACOM at 2:32 PM on Wednesday, March 19th, 2008

Congratulations are in order for our members, HUB Leaders, pubco clients and the AGORACOM team for hitting yet another milestone this week. On February 29, we announced AGORACOM broke through 500,000 page views on February 25. The exact number was 507,000.

I am pleased to announce that we have now smashed that record by 40,000 page views. We hit 547,000 on March 18.

This follows our quarterly traffic report issued at the beginning of February in which we hit 27,000,000 page views in the first 3 months of launching our wiki-powered forums. You can look for another quarterly report at the end of March.

Great job everyone. I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times. Quality wins over quantity any day. AGORACOM has provided a great platform, while members provide utopian quality via great content and self-monitoring. Together, we’ve created the community investors have always deserved.

Discussion Forums are never going to be the same. Spread the word and see you at 1,000,000.

Regards,
George
